How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

My book came today ..200 crochet blocks. So guess what I'll be doing?

I bought a book off amazon called 200 crochet blocks. You can make them up into blankets, afghans etc. That's the reason I bought it. It's fab!

About how much wool does it take Cathy? I sent my 96 year old Grandmother in Law a pair of socks for Christmas and she said that she used to love knitting. I told her about the Squares and she is going to give it a go. She is amazing for 96 I am going to send her needles and some wool but wondered how much roughly she would need.

its quite weird, it doesnt look like it will end up a 8inch square when you cast on 32 stitches, but it does.

 

I made 3 from a 100g ball of wool that was about half used - and there is still plenty left to make another 3 (or more)

 

erm, just tried to weigh it - it hardly moved on my big scales, and I cant find my little scales

mine looks like it's going to be bigger than 8 inches...

I knit loose so guess I'll just use smaller needles, or can I use fewer stitches

wellllll I think they are trying to get them all to look the same, but I think that if mine come out a bit loolaaa then I will make up lots more and sew them together myself and send a complette blanket.

Well, I did my first square last night while watching Hustle...BUT when finished it was only 5 3/4 square I posted on the square form and they said:

 

HELP! Did my first square last night and it has come out at 5 3/4 inches Cast on 32 stitches and used size 4 needles. Should I put more stitches on or use bigger needles?

Both probably! If you are using UK double knitting on size 4mm needles it seems to be necessary to have 40 stitches and then it's about 72 rows.

errrm ok I'll just see how mine turns out (I think it's gonna be huge with DK and size 4 needles and definately 32 stitches), I did a bit too much last night and am suffering for it today.. so am having a days rest.

 

The lady at the church is always looking for blankets like these too I have been told so I will never be short of recipients.

Well, I have switched to size 5mm needles and cast on 40 stitches this time and it looks like it is going to turn out the right size.

Count me in - I've already knitted one square ( it'll need strectching I forgot that that particular ball of wool had elastic tendancies - I carefully measured after the first few rows - all was fine then ping it shrunk!)

Since getting involved in this lots of older friends of my MIL's have asked for details as they love to knit but don't really have a reason to. It is lovely to see it the knitters and the recipients both getting something out of it.

you all put me to shame I am the worlds slowest knitter, it doesn't come natural to me but I am getting there with a little bit at a time which is good as I then do some crocheting too..

I've nearly finished my second Granny Square, I've used quite a chunky wool so they'll be nice and warm.

 

From the pictures on the website I think they'll be ok.
