Ideas for 50th Birthday Treat

Recommended Posts

Having read all the posts I am seriously wishing I had a special birthday coming up

I have been to Iceland and it is without a doubt the most magical country to visit.

I went with my daughter a few years ago for 4 days. Quite amazing! Less than 4 days might not be enough time though. The people are wonderfully helpful too.

Everywhere sounds nice :D:D:D

My parents are off tomorrow on their second trip to see the northern lights, they get back on Tuesday.

The trip is a cruise on one of the working post ships, that stops at various ports along the way to deliver the post. They loved it the first time, and are going back on the same trip again as it was so good.

Good luck finding something memorable to do - my OH is 50 next year and we are already saving for some sort of celebratory holiday.

I took my hubby to Jersey for a long weekend for his 40th. It was absolutely beautiful! We stopped in St Helier at the Royal Yacht

I treated my sister to a weekend at the Royal Yacht last year for her 40th! :D Very nice hotel it was too - they also dined in their Sirocco restaurant (recommended if ever you go back)

Somewhere Arctic sounds wonderful! Norway is stunning - we went in summer, but I'd love to go back in winter! The ice hotel sounds amazing!

My OH also has a big-0 birthday coming up in October! He is getting a surprise 2 nights in the Peak District with some hiking thrown in

I chose to go to the Eden Project for my 50th, with my family - we stayed in a cottage nearby, one with swimming pool and walking from the door......had a wonderful time!

We were going to go to Iceland later in the year for Carl's 40th but we bought a farm instead! :D

The brochures for the Northern Lights have arrived today, fortunately when DH was welding stuff in the garage, and therefore he hasn't seen them :)

The Eden project is fab - we went there a few years ago on holiday and really enjoyed it.

I'm not sure we'll be buying a farm this year though - what a wonderful thing.
