bigmommasally
I've finished my first baby quilt/playmat. I did a mixture of stitch in the ditch and contour (?) quilting. I found quilting a bit hard going, stitch in the ditch isn't that easy when you've got wiggly woggly seams and I found it difficult to manage the weight and size of the quilt but hopefully that will get easier with practice. Chook n Boo Mum
Do you have a lucky small person to give that to then Sally, or was it a practice piece? Whichever, it's GORGEOUS !! Sha x

Plum
Wow that is so colourful, well done. Did you machine to quilt or do it by hand?
Blackrocksrock
Its fabulous - love the bright colours - lucky baby to get that one.
Snowy
Ah wow, that is gorgeous! Even my patchwork teacher admitted that quilting in the ditch was difficult. Better to echo quilt - 1/4" from the seam. Yours looks fab though!
bigmommasally
Do you have a lucky small person to give that to then Sally, or was it a practice piece? I've made it for a friend at work who's just left to have her first baby. Wow that is so colourful, well done. Did you machine to quilt or do it by hand? I machine quilted it - if I had done it by hand the baby wouldn't have got it until its first day at school! Thanks for all your lovely comments everyone. I'm now trying to make a little calico and applique tote bag for it to be carried around in.

bigmommasally
Well the tote bag went together nice and easy, its my first go at machine applique so not great but not too bad. My elephant looks a bit like a pot bellied pig though!
