chickencam
Mine are like that and they seem to think that the fairies come to tidy up. I can't go to bed when the kitchen has dirty dishes in it, so the fairies usually come at around 10pm
Couperwife
My children do the dishwasher each night but seem to have difficulty recognising that things left over need to be washed up. They think they can just wait for tomorrow's load what?? cant they wait?? oh no, quick someone hide this thread before kev gets home everything goes in the dishwasher, if it doesnt go in the dishwasher, it goes in the bin (usually after it has been through the dishwasher and disintegrated ) I did wash up at SILs house though (for christmas ) I HATE it when people fill the sink up with stuff - whats the point in that??, you have to take it all out to wash up anyway, cos you cant get enough water in when its full of a million plates, bowl (still with stuff in ) half filled mugs (ok, ok, ill stop ranting ) cor, i didnt know that I oculd get enthusiastic over housework, its never happened before cathy x
Seagazer
My YS's answer is that he's leaving things to soak - they soak until I take them out the next morning and then have to put my hand in disgusting dirty water - and wash the yucky things up! chickencam
I hate festering cold dish water, my OH tends to leave the water after washing up, I don't know why because it isn't fit for washing anything else. It is truely revolting when it goes cold.
Lavenders_Blue
I hate festering cold dish water, my OH tends to leave the water after washing up, I don't know why because it isn't fit for washing anything else. It is truely revolting when it goes cold. My DH does this too. Isn't it totally revolting? I have never yet worked out what he is saving this water for. It's not like you would even want to chuck it on the garden as the ground is totally waterlogged already. JUST POUR IT DOWN THE DRAIN! docsquid
My DH is the opposite - I do sometimes leave pots and pans to wash until the next morning, but I do put a bit of water in them so it doesn't get dried on. I then wash up after breakfast, so all the pans are ready for the evening meal. DH never puts water in them so I always have to remember to put them to soak before breakfast (when I'm feeding the chickens) or it is a all s"Ooops, word censored!"ey to wash off. The Dogmother
I hate festering cold dish water, my OH tends to leave the water after washing up, I don't know why because it isn't fit for washing anything else. It is truely revolting when it goes cold. Phil does exactly the same! It drives me mad because when I go down in the morning to wash out all the animal bowls etc before feeding them; I have to empty a heavy bowl full of water first! Happy chickens!
Are you married to my OH Claret?! Does exactly the same. Definition of w-up differs in our house: mine dishwasher stacked and on, all items that don't go in washed-up, all surfaces wiped down and everything put away. OH will stack dishwasher, leave all remains to soak and do nothing with work surfaces or odds n ends. He makes up in other ways though!
