Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 14

Recommended Posts

does he ever stop snoring..

Not often these days :lol::lol::lol:

He has had a mad 5 minutes of playing, and has been out and had a bark at the new girls too. He always does this, barks on the first day and then is fine again

I'm actually amazed he realises they are new girls if I am honest. Clever dog is my Henry :P

Happy St David's Day everyone. Danny's gone to school with his welsh shirt on and a daffodil, lots of little girls dressed up as Welsh ladies - so sweet! Was fancying making welsh cakes, but I can't find my recipe, might have to look one up in a mo.

Happy Birthday to Henry too *woof woof*

Recipe for you PT :D

Ingredients

225g/8oz self-raising flour, sieved

110g/4oz (preferably Welsh) salted butter

1 egg

handful of sultanas

milk, if needed

85g/3oz caster sugar

extra butter, for greasing

Method

1. Rub the fat into the sieved flour to make breadcrumbs. Add the sugar, dried fruit and then the egg. Mix to combine, then form a ball of dough, using a splash of milk if needed.

2. Roll out the pastry until it is a 5mm/¼in thick and cut into rounds with a 7.5-10cm/3-4in fluted cutter.

3. You now need a bakestone or a heavy iron griddle. Rub it with butter and wipe the excess away. Put it on to a direct heat and wait until it heats up, place the Welsh cakes on the griddle, turning once. They need about 2-3 minutes each side. Each side needs to be caramel brown before turning although some people I know like them almost burnt.

4. Remove from the pan and dust with caster sugar while still warm.

Just been out to find what Tipsy's been yelling at (nothing), got sidetracked and sat on the bench in the sun holding an Apache egg. Number one comes out and has a cuddle. He is mortified - it was the school like atmosphere and the way people spoke to you as though you were a little kid (well he interprets it that way) - and yet he must have thought it would be like that before he decided to do it. He says he just wants to work and come home and relax and he's not too bothered that it's poorly paid - just something. He really is his own worst enemy. :(

Poor lad. I hope he finds something soon, its got to be so frustrating for him :(

Well I have come in from having a cuddle with the newbies, Dorothea was not as keen on a cuddle, but Tegan really liked the fuss :D I think she must have had some show pen exposure, as she doesn't mind being picked up and fussed at all :D

I have left the newbies in the WIR but shut away in the rabbit run, so that they can be close to the oldies, I have put mealworms on the divide, the whole positive association. However, Donna has pecked Dorotheas comb through the divide and drawn a bit of blood :x Donna has also been an evil minx to Nyssa, Grace and Leela today, having new sisters has really put her in a bad mood :x I have told her if she hasn't snapped out of it by tomorrow, she is having a bumper biut

Hmmm, Squirt is very wary of me after I bundled her over last night when she pecked again. But she was with me (at a safe distance) while I was digging veggie beds - I was being nice and gave her lots of worms too. If she pecks me again tonight I will be giving her the bumper treatment!

Your girls sound like mine reacted too - there's always one that gets all huffy. Why Squirt would start up again I have no idea - we'd been doing fine. Although I think it was the Pekins that drew first blood here! Today Mercedes has been with Squirt while the big girls have been with the other 2 Pekins. Tipsy has done her own thing while Kitty is still broodying - she has had a dirt bath again. Honestly that bird is always caked in mud! Today she has aubiose stuck to her too. She's been diatomed and for good measure vaselined on her comb and anti-mite sprayed last week and she feels horribly dusty to touch - and when we hold her we get covered in dirt too.

Glad Tegan is the perfect little lady. Dorothea just needs a little more persuasion. :D

We've taste tested them, and they are yummy, although I think I had the pan a bit hot to start with and the first lot are bit darker than I would've liked. The last 3 were perfect though  Will need to practice more :D
