Of course they work, thats why commercial hatcheries hatch out lots of unwanted cockerels and have to dispose of them at great cost..

Well, I'm all up for an interesting gimic you could try them out and see if they work and then you know if they do for next time...or maybe youtube them to see if they show them working - im sure yahoo answers has something to say about them

I have to say, this made me pmsl (sorry!). I wonder if she chucks her boy ones out the incy on the strength of that thing? Not saying I am totally disbelieving of dowsing (and I got it right when pg with dd) but I wouldn't want to base any decisions on it

they probably work about as well (not) as those magnetic thingies you attach to your water mains to get rid of limescale.... i.e. not at all, but then you've bought it anyway.

I believe the sex of the chick is not decided till the latter stages of incubation anyway so using this early on would certainly be no use and thats IF I believe it works which I dont

I was about to say its not .. but I'll check with school first

 

I think the sex is always determined in the sex chromosomes they have (equivalent of X and Y, just its different in birds), just maybe the development doesn't start until later on

Crocodiles don't have sex chromosomes which is why the different incubating temperatures can make some males
