Chicken Shirl
My favourite was my ex-batt, Babs, bless her. No longer with us sadly. I did a painting of her... RIP Babs What a lovely keepsake, and what a talent you have. Brought a tear to my eye this Thursday morning. Do you take commissions? stoice
Thanks I have taken commissions before, usually of a cat or a dog someone has wanted done. I like to paint and draw animals. Bit of an arty family as both my parents paint too, my Dad designs postage stamps. My mum has done lots of little loose water colour sketches of her girls and sold a few at an exhibition, so there must be lots of us chicken obsessed people out there! Sorry, a bit off topic. My mums favourite chook is fizz, she is very nosey and HAS to watch closely what she is doing (Probably in case she drops a grape!)

Lavenders_Blue
I have a secret soft spot for my little Queenie. She is the quietest and most unassuming of my hens, lays reliably almost every day and just gets on with life without the great song and dance that the others make about everything. She's such a sweetie. But don't tell the others - because I love them all to bits!
stoice
I used to sneak a few extra grapes to my favourite, Babs. (Only whe nthe girls weren't looking! ) She knew I'd do this and sneak away from the others trying to look casual I miss her.
JS1
My favourite was Ena because she was bullied by the other two - but then we got the ex-batts and she started to bully them I think one of our ex-batts, Agatha, is a particularly pretty chicken but people look at me strangely when I say that.... Let's face it, I love them all, even when they're being little sods.

Gelbel
Joy was my out and out favourite from day one. She was so beautiful, independant, adventurous, intelligent and brave. Even if they had all toddled off to bed when I went to lock them up for the night she would come down for a cuddle - telling me off for being late. The DH confessed she was his favourite too even though, when they were here, he swore blind he did not have a preference. But when it came to treat time or cleaning time then Rita was my favourite - faster than Usain Bolt out of his blocks to on those chubby little legs to see what nibbles were on offer and under my feet to 'help' clean. Hope we will be as lucky with the newbies to get such characters when we get them.
dancing cloud
My first favourite was Joy, because she was so bald and sad-looking but the first into (and out of) everything. Gradually Daisy top-chook moved to favourite spot as she's my cuddle-chook who likes to sit on my knee for a chat (and she gets sneaked extra treats too ). I love them all though
beulah59
We started with four ex-batts and named one each. DH's hen was the bottom of the pecking order and still has a bald patch just behind her comb where she was pecked. But she's the sweetest little thing, never aggressive or loud ... but she talks to you all the time in a far higher pitch than any of the others. She's definitely his favourite! Not sure about mine ... probably the current bottom of the heap ... she has an ever increasing bald patch by her tail and has a hard time of it from the others, but she lays me an egg every day .. always first thing in the morning.
