chickinboy
Hi all, random one for you - I took redundancy 12 weeks ago, and despite the misery and skintness it's caused, the silver lining is that my four girls are now getting to FR all day every day. When I eventually manage to get another job, my girls will then have to return to FR-ing on summer evenings and weekends. Their WIRALAYKYHD (walk in run as long as you keep your head down!) has always been plenty big enough for them, just a bit worried that the shock of being kept in after a holiday in the garden may cause unrest. They already throw themselves at the chicken wire when they see me coming to let them out. What do ya think? Now all I need is for Omlet to advertise for an online marketing specialist. And yes I am hoping they read this!
Space Chick
They will be fine as long as their WIR is big enough. Whenever my girls are confined to their run and see me, they pace up and down like they're in jail, and waiting for their release dates However, when I am not looking the are content to go about their business (I have learnt this since watching them on the webcam ) Chickens have a unique talent of making you feel guilty. But they will adapt
Cinnamon
I agree with Debs. Whenever I have had holidaying hens here, who are used to rree ranging, they do pace & make a dash for the door whenever you open it,but if you ignore them, they just pootle about happily. chickinboy
Cheers Debs. I've watched them from upstairs and they're fine when the don't think anyone is around. Just didn't want them to miss the garden too much - they love to sunbathe against the wall all afternoon! p.s. your webcam is VERY addictive! Quite why I spend so long watching other people's chicken cams when I have chickens in the garden is beyond me!

chickinboy
sounds like virtual chicken keeping is as much of a slippery slope as real ones!
Chicken Shirl
sounds like virtual chicken keeping is as much of a slippery slope as real ones! I have vowed not to get into "farmville" I already spend far too much time looking at all the chickens on the Forum.
