jellykelly
I was led to believe that my baby banties are 13 weeks (pekins) and around 16 weeks for the dutch. Hubby has just been up the garden and found two little cream eggs in their coop. Now I didn't check it yesterday or this morning so they are most likely from the same hen - but which one? All are too young (supposedly) and I have no idea what colour eggs pekins/dutch are supposed to lay. www.picturetrail.com/jellykellybelly1 In the new arrivals folder are my banties - pics taken 4 weeks ago. Thanks Kelly
Raina
Hi, Someone on here posted about putting food colouring on their vents, Maybe you could try that? (Make sure you don't use the same colour on each chicken )
jellykelly
I had thought of that one - but their right little beggers to catch and none of them would even contemplate crouching when I near them. The non-crouching thing is another reason why I'm surprised by the eggs.
tom123
I think Willemina looks a little older than 16 weeks in the pics so it's probably her Both breeds should lay cream/white eggs.
jellykelly
THanks Tom. After my initial excitement I did realise that it was Willemina. The two pekins are definately still babies so it only left that one option!! She hasn't laid any more though - little tease. It'll take a week of her eggs to fill one of my sandwiches!
