Leicester_H
Having ordered my 2 run converters last week they were due to be delivered yesterday (Wednesday). Arriving excitedly home from work (yes - I do need to get out more, but you know us chicken types) to be informed by OH that they hadn't arrived. Phoned Omlet - spoke to Quinn (?). He said they'd been collected by Parcel Force on Monday. He offered to phone them and then phone me back. 5 mins later he called to say that parcel Force didn't know where they were !! (how can they a. lose something so large and b. not know from the tracking where it is ?) Anyway, Quinn said rather than mess around he'd arrange for 2 more to be sent out today which should be with me tomorrow - so fingers crossed as I want to get Smokie back in with the other 2 ASAP So excellent service from Omlet (as usaul). Leicester_H
continuing the story.......... I was told they would be delivered any time today between 9 and 5. As before, we left instructions that if we weren’t in, it could be left around the far side of the house, out of sight. At 7.15am this morning our door bell rang. It was parcel force. Since the package was large and our hall way small, my husband asked the delivery man to put the package around the side of the house. He said he couldn’t do that as it was 'front door delivery only' – so had it been later, when we were both out, he couldn’t have left the parcel. - don’t know if this is Parcel force policy of just this particular driver? Also, there was no delivery note on the box with the delivery instructions (about leaving around side, out of sight) I have emailed Omlet with this info as we are satisfied customers, assuming contents are correct (I have no reason to doubt this) , but it might help to avoid future customers frustrations. The Dogmother
I have often foud that couriers won't pay any attention to alternative delivery instructions... what on earth is the point in having them then?
rosie
I get most things delivered to OH's factory where they have a goods inwards dept, as had so many problems with carriers failing to leave stuff at our home . However, OH often gets some funny looks or comments from the fellas there, especially when he gets my Boden orders
Guest
Thanks again for emailing in Hazel... I have taken this up with our account manager at Parcel Force he has informed me that the driver should not have informed you that it was 'front door delivery only' and he will take it up with the depot and the driver will be spoken too... So again I am sorry about this.... Hope you have a lovely weekend....
ubereglu
I'm glad you got them delivered in the end though! Parcel Force can be a bit useless can't they. Regards to delivery instructions we've actually found Royal Mail and the courier company that delivers Lands End clothing to be quite good as they leave things in our porch if no one's in. Leicester_H
Thanks Quin. Fortunately, it wasn't a problem for us on this occasion - but it could have been. Some people just don't seem to care about doing a good job - I see nothing wrong with pointing this out politely. If no-one says anything, nothing will change. We, the customer, are paying for the service, after all. If all companies gave the level of service that Omlet give, the world would be a better place !! The Dogmother
They're not called Parcel Farce for nowt we used to use them at work, and sacked them in favour of a local courier which has a national network - they've not let us down yet.
