My eco solution to rat problems

My run is rusting, at the end of some of the bars where the green plastic stuff hasn't quite covered the metal. We've only had it 5 months!

 

Do they sell that green rubbery painty stuff in tins to touch it up with?

Omlet don't sell the stuff to cover the run Cannycat but it shoudn't rust after 5 months, I would give Omlet a ring and see what they suggest.............

Oh dear, that doesn't sound too good! Have you contacted them at Omlet - always worth a try first as I know they've been very helpful if others have had problems.

I agree - phone Omlet, as they are very helpful.

To be homest the plastic should have covered all the metal,so maybe its a faulty one or something?

My eglu run is about 2 years old and it hasn't rusted, but the Rablu is a different matter - the bunnies chew the front panel, so that has some rusty bits around the door

 

Call Omlet.

Yeah, I mean it's not falling apart or anything, but I forsee it getting worse if I just leave it. I'll email omlet at the weekend and see what they recommend - thanks guys

I have the same problem, have had my eglu since Sept 06 and have quite a few rust spots esp around the end where the door opening is. Have not contacted eglu yet (was thinking of using hammerite at some point) but interested to hear what they have to say. Had asumed they all did it and it was just something I'd have to fix myself.

I'm keeping an eye on mine.

Where the run door shuts the 'holes' it latches onto are getting rust spots. I assume this is because the door is wearing on it but I'm sure thats not right if noone elses is liek that.

Mine is a little rusty there too Bronze, I think that is down to general wear and tear. But lots of rust isn't right and Omlet should be contacted - they have an excellent customer service policy.

 

My Rablu run door has lots of rust on it, but that's because the little darlings chew the plastic off

I'll keep an eye on it as I havnt had it very long at all but I was assuming it was a normal place for it to happen
