Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 16

Recommended Posts

I can confirm that it has been snowing in South Wales

So sorry to hear about your girl Claire :(

And to hear about Clooties bunnies :(

Well, I tried big Suze in the rabbit run with Tegan and she started picking on her instantly  Now I have a quandary, due to the change in the weather, as am concerned about Tegan sleeping tonight, should I try another girl, should I put her in the cube and whip her out early tomorrow, or should I leave her on her own and hope for the best? Ultimately, she is in a cat carrier inside the WIR, and has Tarpaulin covering the outside, so I don't think it will get too cold, and Nyssa is still sleeping on a perch in the run with no ill effects

I am picking up her new sisters tomorrow, so tomorrow night she'll have 2 girls to cuddle up to. I just hope they all get on

What about putting Dorothea back in with her just overnight so she doesn't peck her, but can share warmth :)

Does anyone think a lemon pyle brahma (LF) is too big to hatch with the next lot and then go with the banties? - the ones at the farm are all gentle giants, but don't know if its a bit too big and I'm getting carried away?

Lemon brahmas - they are gorgeous. They have them at the DTB centre. WANT! Now don't start me off again!

Sunny here now - what a waste - just before it goes down. My lot are happily beating up the new shrubs I put in the other day. No Sioux you do not get in the middle of the branches and scratch!

How about bringing the cat basket in as it's only for one night. Phil could have a liddle cuddle before she goes to bed.

In a bit Sandie :)

Lewis wants a brahma but doesn't know if it'd fit in with the others *hmmmmm*

Billy the Brahma at the farm was a big softie, and the belgian quail + pekins used to bully him  so he had to be put in one of the stables with some younger chucks!

Don't know what to advise on the Brahma. All I know is that my Brahma bantam is having a hard time :( Even though she's bigger than 2 of my large fowl :(

I think you'd probably be fine Lewis from what I know of the breed.

I have looked at the weather report and it is slightly warmer overnight tonight than it was last night, so I think she'll be fine. Also its a few degrees warmer in the run than in the garden.

I want to do as little as possible to cause Tegan distress, bless her heart.

Didn't think of it from the other way with the LF (being picked on).

She should be ok on her own overnight then, is it healing/scabbing ok? - then the newbies tomorrow :)

Going to see Kick Ass at the cinema later - friend is picking me up in a bit :P

Hey Freda - how did your big presentation go?

Hi Fred - nice to see you again.

We had 7 eggs! Mercedes was the party pooper today. She was the only one not whingeing too! So we could be on course for 8 as Sioux seems to have definitely broken her dry spell and what a long sausage it was! :?

Now we are inundated with eggs and I'm scoffing as many as I can and getting egg bound no doubt!

Going to make lemon curd at the weekend and some meringues.

The scab is looking good (as much as scabs can  ) its healing very nicely. I just  that she'll be OK with the Columbines. They are younger than her though, so fingers crossed :anxious:

I have the spare Eglu and run is push comes to shove.

So Fred - how was the presentation.

Ooh eggs - I forgot

Jemima has been laying every day for the last 4 days - seems a real novelty after so long without eggs! She started laying in the wendy house but today was in the nest of the Go :D

Nugget is still on an off the nest - I've left her an egg in the nestbox  (as not to be rude, you understand  ) and she's sitting on it on and off :)

And my other eggs - the Diamond Doves.

I had a look when I got back today and there is a tiny chick in the nest

I looked really late last night and they were still eggs, so only a few hours old :P - couldn't see the other one because Judy was sitting on it.

Oooh DD chicksies. Haven't a clue what they look like Lewis. Cough hint cough. Unless you can do a linky thingy for us.

Well done Jemima. I take it you are waiting for babies rather than do what I would do - scoff them.

Debs - if it doesn't work Tegan can always come here for a holiday.
