Britannia Ovens (esp Range cookers) your experience

Hubby has wanted to go on one of these for ages & his birthday is looming.

Has anyone been on one that that can recommend, the creepier the better?

Ripper tours are also a possibility, and historical London at night

Oh my! Not been on one round London - but been on one around Shrewsbury, Shropshire. It freaked me out! Hows about him staying the night in a very spooky haunted place?

I trained round the corner from where the Ripper used to murder his prey and my friend lived down the street where many murders happened. I was followed to her flat by a guy and was freaked out. This was in the 1980's. Blind Beggar pubs worth a visit too.

I worked at Hanbury Street motors in the late sixties. I think it was number 23, it used to be a timber yard. Small world.

We have been on one in Lincoln which was very all taken with a pinch of salt and a laugh it was great fun, would love to do a London one

Gosh I remember that WW - friend lived in Brady Street and I lived in Cable street. used to be a red light district and there was a famous battle there. A patient was horrified when I told her I was going to live off cable street - by the the ladies of the night had moved off. Slightly dodgey area in the 80's thou.

We did one when we were in London a year ago. It was with London walks/Ghost walks, they do the Jack the Ripper one as well. We wanted the Haunted London walk( think it leaves from monument tube ), but when we turned up at the meeting place we found the guide had had to cancel, so we went the next night to apparitions and alleyways walk( from embankment)- load of rubbish ( sorry ) might have been because we were so looking forward to the Haunted London walk, but the apparitions one wasn't scary at all, the guide was more into telling us about the theatres and what celebs he'd met etc etc, we got bored and made our excuses to leave before the time was up. But, this company had good reviews on tripadvisor, and I think the Haunted London walk would have been good, so give it a go, but avoid at all costs the apparitions walk

I was born in Whitechapel and lived in Limehouse for a while. I can remember walking up Cable Street, and back down The Ratcliffe Highway. You'd meet ever colour and creed in such a short space of time. The Saturday night fights in the 'Artichoke' were legendary....

The outlaws went on the Ripper tour. They thoroughly enjoyed it. There are some places that have been rebuilt or something like - no longer exist, but they try to get it as close as possible.
