Your own preference, mine opens out but has a lock inside as well because when I am in feeding them I dont want the door to blow open, so have lock outside and inside. Opening out means I can open with one hand and push the porridge in front of them, I think if it opened in the would bet past me, but I am just biased because mine opens out

I have doors on both ends which open out as when I planned it all I could imagine was that the aubiose would get in the way of opening inwards.

I have locks on both sides so that I can pull and lock the door shut when I am in the wir to stop them escaping.

One side is stable doors with a chicken hatch on the bottom door and the other side is double doors to fit the cube

Hehe, thanks for the info :D

It just confirms my suspicions that you are all barking mad!!!! :D:D:D

I just want to know...where can I join lol

Think I will leave the door to the end as, by the sound of it, I need to plan an inward door with an inner outward door, barn style, plus a mini-hobbit-like entrance and a private VIP door for chicken-sized creatures only :lol::lol::lol:

...and its only Tuesday :(

I have an opening-out stable door* on the 2nd of 4 panels... Eglus to the left and gravity feeder/water directly to the right. Really handy in the mornings as I can just lean in to let them out in the morning and makes a quick job of putting in fresh water, without them escaping and making me late for work whilst I chase them around the garden in my PJs and wellies

*PS was a solid door but was sawn in half soon after Mr Frutti locked me in the WIR on Boxing Day in the freezing cold when I was meant to be making lunch for the imminent arrival of the inlaws :? ! At least now I can escape (pad bolt on lower half on outside, normal bolt from top to bottom on inside).

Aha!! I think the question of escaping chickens when you are in a rush/early morning was my main worry when designing the door.

I think I am going to leave the Cube door open all the time, but refilling the feeders and water without being rushed by a herd of hungry chickens hell bent on free-ranging is on my mind :D:D

I might check your WIR picks and steal some ideas-thanks.

Ps-I am sorry, I did laugh at Mr Frutti’s mistake as I have already threatened Mrs Scruff with the WIR being her new home if she misbehaves :wink::wink:
