Reggae Reggae Sauce in Sainsburys

Recommended Posts

Ok Ok

Peter Jones a la "Dragon's Den" is having his own show on ITV1 called Tycoon. It's of a similar format as the Den but with an X Factor and Apprentice theme thrown in too. 10 people are going to battle it out to win the financial backing from Peter for their business idea. Only seven will get the money!

And it just so happens that a certain family member of mine (Tina - see link below) is through to the final 10 and is off to London to film for three days next week!!

We're all so excited for her and really hope she does well.........and if it works it's especially important to me also as I will be getting a new job - suffice to say we'd be keeping it in the family!

Its a really big opportunity for her and Peter loves the cd's. Had anyone been in Cardiff yesterday I was even selling them for her!

Will let you know more as it happens

SO! I'm taking bets on how many of my family can make it on TV this year - 3 weeks ago her sisters we on You Are What You Eat!

A

xx

How wonderful - and what a great opportunity for her!

I love Peter Jones - he always comes across as being a gentleman doesn't he?

I will be watching with interest (have heard about the show on Virgin radio & earmarked it as something I wanted to watch already!)

I received this email this morning - very good customer relations.........

Dear Customer

You have kindly ordered my Reggae Reggae sauce, but due to the overwhelming success and interest since my appearance on Dragons’ Den aired, I have been too busy to fulfil your order. Since taking your order, Peter Jones has managed to tie down a contract with Sainsbury’s to sell it in all their stores and the current price is £1.49.

You have paid £4.50 (including postage and packing) and both Peter and I feel that we don’t want you to pay for something that is available on the high street for less. If you would still like to receive the sauce, please contact us, and I will send it out to you. If we do not hear from you within 7 days, we will refund your money.

Thank you for your interest in my Reggae Reggae sauce, and please, please, please buy it from Sainsbury’s NOW!

With love,

Levi Roots

I am a bit peturbed.

I still haven't had an email from Reggae Reegae Sauce, & I paid by Paypal on 18th Feb.

I haven't had the sauce or a refund :?

And the "contact us" link on the site isn't working :?:?:?

That is rather disturbing Sarah.

I've just checked the bottle and there is no other contact advice - just the website :? .

I haven't checked to see if I've had my refund yet either - I'll go and check.

I also wanted to contact them to check whether it is GM free.

I have just had this email in response to the one I sent earlier

"Dear Customer

Reggae Reggae Sauce goes from strength to strength, and has grown faster

than I could ever have imagined. With any fast growing business,

keeping up with demand is no mean feat - and problems can occur.

I want to let you know that I am working flat out to sort out problems

with my online orders. I am so sorry for the delay in repayment to you,

and all of the inconvenience this has caused you.

I have been trying to action a mass repayment from PayPal, but as I was

inundated with orders, PayPal has placed severe restrictions on my

account, because of the unexpected influx of money. It is proving

exceptionally difficult to have these restrictions removed and refund

all of my customers who registered to buy the sauce. I can assure you I

have been in hours of talks with PayPal to have the problem resolved.

Please bear with me while I try to action this as soon as possible.

I am so frustrated by this, as I really want to start a good business

and you all need to see your money back.

Kind regards

Levi Roots"

So, its darn Paypals fault then - what are they like?

:roll::?

He's such a nice man isn't he? - even with an apology letter, he remains dignified. Most wouldn't bother to reply so fully.

hopefully, Paypal will get their act together soon

I wonder if I've had a reply?...........

edit : I've had the same reply but no answer to my extra questions. I notice that the email address this time is leviroots@peterjonestv

From today's Daily Mirror (I hasten to add that I don't read this paper...just found article when I was looking for the pic of Kate Middleton to see what all the fuss was about!):lol:

DRAGON'S Den star Levi Roots yesterday vowed to ditch the firm making his sauce after it switched production to Poland.

G Costa is closing its factory in Caerphilly, Mid Glamorgan, with the loss of 179 jobs.

Angry Levi, 47, said: "I chose a British company and now they're going miles abroad. I'll find someone else to make it."

Reggae Reggae Sauce became famous when impressed judges on cult TV business show Dragon's Den gave Levi £50,000 to help him mass-produce it.

G Costa said: "We need to cut our costs."
