Reggae Reggae Sauce in Sainsburys

Recommended Posts

I received this email this morning - very good customer relations.........

Dear Customer

You have kindly ordered my Reggae Reggae sauce, but due to the overwhelming success and interest since my appearance on Dragons’ Den aired, I have been too busy to fulfil your order. Since taking your order, Peter Jones has managed to tie down a contract with Sainsbury’s to sell it in all their stores and the current price is £1.49.

You have paid £4.50 (including postage and packing) and both Peter and I feel that we don’t want you to pay for something that is available on the high street for less. If you would still like to receive the sauce, please contact us, and I will send it out to you. If we do not hear from you within 7 days, we will refund your money.

Thank you for your interest in my Reggae Reggae sauce, and please, please, please buy it from Sainsbury’s NOW!

With love,

Levi Roots

We're not very near to a Sainsbury's either :(

That price was for 3 bottles and as it included P&P, I think I'll let them deliver..... or was it £4.50 per bottle? I'd better go and check........

Edit - £4.50 per bottle  - I'll go and find a Sainsbury's

One of the unsigned bottles is at 10.50 I bet that buyer is hacked off now

The £10.50 one is signed too, they just haven't put it on the title......& it is now up to £23

I am just back from Sainsburys, which was a horrible place - with my 2 bottles, one for supper & one to save for another time :D .

I saw loads of people with it in their trolleys too 8)

Just came from my mums last night with a load of the local papers and one thing she pointed out was a bit about the Reggae Reggae sauce

I can reveal the secret as to why it tastes so good.............

It's made by G.Costa in Abercarn, where my mum lived as a little girl (and down the road from where I was born! Most of my old school friends worked/work there at some point and my SIL lives in a street on the side of the hill that overlooks the factory!

The factory (used to be Kerry's Saucemasters where they made the sachets of ketchup for cafes and fast food outlets and for Pot Noodles (built further up the valley in Croespenmaen nr Crumlin), and is built on the site of the old Prince of Wales colliery where there was a disaster in 1878 where 268 people were killed, including some members of our (Griffiths) family.

I also have some really exciting news about Peter Jones and his new programme on ITV 1..............

A

xx
