Fish in diet

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

just a quick question about fish in a chicken's diet - is it safe? I tipped some tinned sardines into their feed this morning after not being able to face them myself. They wolfed them down in no time. Is it ok to feed them fish and does their enthusiasm for them indicate a dietary deficiency?

Regards

Angus

They love fish, and it is good for them in limited amounts. being omnivores, they will eat any 'meat' they can get their beaks around, but DEFRA guidelines are that we may not feed them any animal products or by products, which includes tinned fish.

My girls eat it. and I shall continue to feed it to them every once in a while, but I couldn't possibly recommend that you do the same.....:angel:

Thankyou !! (I still have half a doz small cans to share ;)
