Hi, thinking of buying a second hand eglu and as there are more chiken ones than rabbit ones was wondering if you can convert them?

You can, but you have to buy a new grey base, inner tray and hay/water rack from Omlet.

 

Have you looked on the 2nd hand eglu thread? There are soem rablus for sale there I think.

Hi Jen Jen. If you buy a second hand chicken eglu, then why not just remove the roosting bars. You then have a solid base, and the nestbox can be used as a hay bed. Simply then just attatch a water bottle to the run and put a food bowl and hay rack inside the run. That would be cheaper than changing the base.

That's exactly what we've done for our rabbits - they are perfectly happy in the Chicken Eglu

Our rabbit actually prefers the chooks' eglus to her own rablu and one of our chooks loves the rabbit's rablu

My rabbit also lives in a chicken eglu with the roosting bars removed - she seems happy enough in there!
