Millie-Annie
Millie chicken is a bit quieter than normal. Still eating, still bright eyed, but just a bit quieter. She isn't laying, but then she rarely does. She is an ex-batt that I have had for almost two years. Her back end is mucky and in the nest box today there was some yellow egg like stuff in her droppings. I am going to give her a warm bath but I have two injections of Amoxil left from Annie on 19th April when she had peritonitis, but sadly she died. Shall I use them? staceychristie
I wouldn't. Your vet prescribed these injections for the bird he /she saw. I'd do the bath, and keep her clean and warm. Have you tried things like Apple Cider vinegar etc etc? Stacey
Millie-Annie
No I meant to get some but didn't get round to it typical. I have used Citricdal in their water and they have poultry drink.
Chucky Mama
No, I wouldn't use them without first seeking the advise of a vet plus they have been drawn up for nearly a month now so may not be particularly sterile anymore.
Christian
Mucky knicker feathers would indicate worms to me. Has she been wormed recently?
Millie-Annie
No she hasn't. I will do that next Where is the best place to buy Flubenvet?
staceychristie
http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/Flubenvet-1-Medicated-Premixture-60g/productinfo/FLUBMP1/ Cost me £14.00, but shop around. Read the instructions, as you'll have to mix it as described. I mix a bit with a small shovel of feed, then add that to a bit more so it's fully mixed in - it's most important. NetTex has just launched an all in one worming solution that I think I'll look into that for next time, as not only do you give it into the birds beaks, but the sanitizing powder is used for the run too. Only came out in April, so not had chance to assess it yet Stacey
