Guest
Well done! What about red mite powder? Oh, and plenty of egg recipes!
chicken bark
Maybe get an extra feeder and drinker as 6 hens sharing a grub a glug may make some girls a little impatient. Something to line the nesting box with and to help absorb poo in the dropping trays. I use Bedmax wood shavings. Disinfectant to clean out the house with. Anti lice/redmite stuff. I used Diatom in the nesting box and some sprinkled around the house. You can also add this to food for worming too but my hens wouldn't eat it! I think other things such as tonics, ACV etc you can add as and when you want later on down the line. Good luck - I am so excited for you. Tutti Frutti
Citronella oil and plant mister Fly traps Rubber gloves A method of disposing of poo - either composting or in bin bags to take to the allotments (you'll have quite a bit of poo to get rid of with 6 girls!) Scrubbing brush & bucket Sonewhere to store the feed - eg dustbin with locking lid or lockable cabinet Mealworms! Although that can wait a few days until they've settled in Somewhere to store your eggs Cheap plastic bowls - ideal for taking carrot peelings etc down to the run, my girls recognise their treat bowls now My regular purchases (every couple of months) are: Aubiose layers pellets corn (although less frequent in summer as it's too warming for them) Virkon S (for deep cleaning every 6 weeks) "Nice to haves" if your girls squabble gentian violet wound powder "In time"... apple cider vinegar citricidal Expensive but worth it Stalosan F or BioDry And a garden bench to watch your girls by

mole
thank you everyone its really helpful - the list is getting longer all very exciting (and expensive )
chick wiggle
aw yeah it can be expensive when you buy all these things at once, but you really dont need them all to begin with. Just buy the essentials and all the other stuff when you need it. A lot of it lasts for ages too. When i first got mine all i had was pellets and grit, everything else can wait.... well except the camera and Pims of course!
