Jerrylikeseggs
Hi everyone On Saturday I became the proud owner of two gorgeous hens, a Gingernut Ranger, still unnamed, but we're calling her Gingernut for the time being, and a Mrs Pepperpot who has been named Annie Pepperpot (after the Kate Rusby song Awkward Annie). Despite being told they were about four weeks off lay, Gingernut has produced little eggs every single day, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until today when she seems to be taking a break! Let them free range in the garden for an hour or so at lunchtime today, and it was great to watch them poking around everywhere, having a little look at everything! Jerrylikeseggs
Update!! Gingernut Ranger has just poped one out, during the afternoon, and Annie has been inside the coop for a while now so wondering if she is going to start too!! Jerrylikeseggs
Treats??? What have you all found your girls like? Just seen cucumber siggested which mine have totally ignored, though apple chunks have been loved. Had some spare courgette so chucked a piece in .... which provoked frantic beak wiping after it was sampled!
Bertrum
I like the Kate Rusby reference. She is ace.

miss_spent
They loved chopped up grapes + sweetcorn Agree with this, mine also love spinach. There was a thread yesterday about treats, and I think the conclusion was that each chicken likes different things just like us! Welcome by the way! chickyhazel
Ours all have different tastes - they all love apple , most worship grapes, but Ginger hates them, they all adore the leaves form a bush in our garden which I haven't a clue what type it is. Most of them like cucumber, courgette, pepper, carrot, brocolli, pear, etc.
Tutti Frutti
Mine run away from brocolli - I've given up wasting my money on it
