Can I just ask.....how do you know he is a he & how will you know a girl toad when you find one?

My thought exactly. I'd be reluctant to bring other toads in. Apart from the fact that you may start a war rather than a love-in, I seem to remember something about not moving toads because of spreading infections.

 

We have a walled garden too, but somehow the toads get in from our neighbours garden. I think they must somehow dig under the gate: there's no other way.

 

Also I guess you might be ending some other happy toady relationship. Or removing a toad from its parenting duties (do they do any parenting duties??)

You have to watch yourself moving spawn from memory I think there is some legislation about it so if you get caught you could find yourself in trouble I am quite busy at work but I will have a hunt later and see what I can find

Thanks for all the advice! Wow- I had no idea there were laws for these things!

 

Have decided just to leave him/her/it- I have no idea whether it's a boy/girl or which way he/she/it bats, so best to let nature do its thing I guess.
