Tallulah my last ex-barnie - under the weather HAPPY NEWS!

Recommended Posts

She's drinking and eating but just not gobbing up like the other greedy girlies. I separated her off and gave her porridge (pellets, nutridrops, corn, poultry drink) which she ate but no interest in mealworms :(

She stands still a lot but her tail's up and she's preening. Her comb is pale but still upright (not like Ursula's shrivelled, purple comb).

She's pooing, but sometimes it's a bit bright green and lumpy but sometimes it's runny, pale yellow? I've read that that's down to lack of food - so I'm encouraging her to eat.

Last Flubenvetted 6 weeks ago (7 days ended on 1st July).

She laid a 104.4g whopper last Tuesday then a broken softie, then normal, then another broken, a normal one over the weekend but nothing today.

Her crop feels OK - not squashy and floppy like Ursula's.

Checked for lice and mites this afternoon and nothing - dusted yesterday with Johnson's Anti Mite powder. She was feisty yesterday when we tried to apply that! But I saw a splatty poo in the poo tray yesterday and wondered whose it was - I reckon now it was hers :(

I don't know  I hope she lays a softie and is perkier in the morning  otherwise we're off to the vets

Does anyone have any advice please? Does the green poo ring alarm bells with anyone?

Well it can be bright green from bile and not eating enough. Motmot's was like that before being diagnosed with cocci but it's not a classical sign. Maybe she didn't eat much and has a softie coming. :? It's very hard to know what is going on with them. Hope she picks up.

She tried some probiotic yoghurt for supper - she was first to bed so had it served on a plate :D The others ate it off my finger (which is now very sore ).

Thanks for the support Plum :) I just needed to tell people who understand (rather than people who think she should be Sunday lunch :( ).

Thanks guys. She's still here but didn't get out of the cube this morning. I made her really sloppy porridge with nutridrops and poultry drink and she had a half-hearted peck but then ate a lot more when I added some corn!

I'm half hoping that she's in there waiting to lay a softie - her comb is lovely and red!

Her crop is quite small and solid and her poo has gone from luminous green to kinda greeny-grey and much more solid.

DH has just been out to see her (chucking it down here!) and picked her up and put her with the others and she's ambling around, but just not showing interest in food or drink :( But her head and tail are up - although I know that could just be disguising her illness.

I just don't know. If nothing by mid-morning, I'll call the vet :(

She's still not 100% but she's up, eating, pooing (not so bright green now), tail and head up, she's just quiet and slowly toddling around then standing in corners - so I'm really hoping it's a softie.

Poor old girl, she's 2.5 ish and must be worn out from her 18 months in the barn. She's enjoying porridge and corn so I'm keeping her topped up with nibbles. Fingers still crossed.

OH! I found something that looked like a tiny walnut in the poo tray - soft and almost fleshy, a bit like a mini brain (sorry, TMI! :vom: ) - could this be what's making her feel glum? I wondered if it was a lash? Of course, I've kept it

I also found a whopping-great, creamy, wrinkly egg - I don't know if it was hers or Sophia's so it would be good if another could appear today as it would mean she's definitely laying

She definitely seems better now. I blitzed up some pellets into a crumb in the food professor and put it in a cage cup on the upper shelf level and she tucked in :)  So she's more like her old self (PHEW!) - maybe it was a softie (or that "lash"?)? If it was a softie, someone's eaten it as I can't find it

Tallulah was drinking rain drops (rather than from the gravity drinker) so I've FINALLY fitted the Superglug for her in the WIR. Trying to get all the girls to drink from it by tapping it with my finger but they just peck at my finger instead which is now very sore :wall::wall::wall: Hopefully, one of them will have the brains to work it out!

She's up and about this morning and had made it up onto the shelf and roost bars (waist height) When she didn't get up yesterday, I thought that was it!

She's already scoffed a bowl of porridge and whined when I moved it away to let the others have a look in. I had to wait until she ambled off before I could give the others any! She does seem tired though but then, I mustn't forget she's at least a year older than the others and had a hard life until she retired here.

Thanks for your support everyone  I was desperately hoping it was a softie but never thought it would be a lash!
