dippy bird
Help! Am sick of all this mud!! We did have rubber chipping down which got the girls through last winter, but we have had to dig it all out as the ground beneath just wasn't draining and it became - well, basically minging!! So now the girls are wading about in mud! I have asked my oh ( again) to put a roof on the run. If he does, would it be best to put paving slabs down and then aubiose? Guest
Paving slabs. All my birds are on concrete with barked areas because it drains easily.
legend21
We had that problem last year, we built a run with a roof and to be honest we have not needed the slabs, but that might just be the way the garden is positioned, it is so worth getting a roof
The Dogmother
You will need (OH willing) a clear, waterproof roof or tarp on your run - any wet litter in the run is a haven for bacteria and worm eggs. If you have drainage problems then I'd suggest laying slabs with Aubiose on top. This will be much easier to clean out, hose down then sprinkle with BioDri or Stalosan before putting clean litter in. I hope that this winter is better for you.
