geb0205
Does anyone else's chooks eat odd things? My girls found some cardboard today, and subsequently started pecking it and eating it in little strips. Is it just my girls that are odd, or do yours eat odd things too?! (the cardboard HAS been promptly removed...)
Nicola H
Mine will try to eat anything they find on the lawn elastic bands and hair bobbles being a favourite, just make sure you don't leave things that could be of harm to them in the garden........... chocchick
yes my dropped hair band Katy likes chewing and insists is a worm. Also heard about brick dust and silicon off a door frame
Laura & CTB
Yep - my girls decided to eat the silicone off the window and door frames - I had to use the spare roosting bars to block their way and was forever grabbing them and prising silicone lumps from their beaks. Thankfully, the've now got bored with it - (before the windows fell out)

bridgy chooks
ours found their way into the kitchen once and ate some binliner that was hanging over the bin lid......
CrookhamChooks
Last week Susannah murdered and ate a mouse. I saw her running around with it, hotly persued by Trinny, and tried to rescue it, but there were two of them and it was impossible to prise it out of a beak and pick it up before the other one had grabbed it ...... I was amazed she could swallow anything that big. Yuck.
bridgy chooks
Gabbi found a massive spider earlier - she pecked the legs off first and then ran round the garden with the body in her beak which she eventually swallowed after being chased by Maggi
