MummyHen
I hope it arrives as planned !?!? £45 - since when; is this a new thing I've sold a cube via the market place previously and didn't get charged. My purple cube is up and running - so I too have an empty classic and have the same dilemma; sell or keep
daxigirl
They sell well on ebay £230ish seems to be the average price, a lilac one + extension achieved £330ish. Buyer seems to always collect. I hope to part with mine this way when my comes in October once I've integrated some newbies that is. I'm sure your really excited, I know I am and it's still ages away.
Margaret
Just spoken to Omlet to make sure I hadnt got it wrong. They charge 15% commission to sell So seeing as we brought Eglu from them, buying Cube from them and they want to charge to sell it Dont think I will be doing it via here. Bit mean really, or is it just me??
chicken bark
I'd sell it on ebay. Just make sure you have a reserve price and list it on an offer day so you don't get charged commission on there too. Alternatively once dismantled it could sit in your garage for a rainy day. Rainy days aways happen...
Redwing
I believe that omlet will charge commission for anything sold in the Marketplace You can put your Eglu in the 'Eglus and Cubes For Sale' section on the forum though and that will not be subject to commission
Margaret
Thank you Redwing, thats what I will do then.

Mercedes55
I know, so eggcited, how silly at my age.Christmas is comming early, its only 101 days to go, but Not for me Not at all silly Margaret. I can remember being so excited when mine was delivered too. I have kept my Eglu and am using it for my new girls. Not sure what I will do if and when the new girls go in with the ex batts but I think I will hang on to it as it won't take up too much space in the garage. Just hope OH agrees with me
dancing cloud
If you weren't eggscited, we'd be worried! Forgive me for not being a good influence , but if you don't need the cash immediately, how about keeping the eglu for introductions? I kept my even though I can use the with its run for intros and the without a run for the other girls - "just in case" ...
Margaret
Unfortunately will have to sell asap, as that was how I managed to persuade OH for the I havent done any intros yet, as always get Gill from Mumbles Farm to do them when I go on holiday I choose new chooks and she does all the hard work whilst I go away (been successful 3 times) Though last time not as only tried to do 1 hen. Going away in November and hopefully when I get back will have an Orpington and Aracuna as well
Mercedes55
You are lucky having someone to do the introductions for you Mine are now into their 2nd week of being introduced to each other and I think it will be some time before they are all in the Cube together. I can't wait as it's a lot more work having to clean out two coops

Have told OH will phone as soon as it arrives so he can rush home from the office to set it all up Wont say what he said but he always manages to get time off for golf so think its only fair Have explained to the girls about their new house, but might have to let them know that if it doesnt come until late after noon they wont be in it until the weekend, just dont want to get their eggspectations up to much
Mercedes55
Hope it comes soon Margaret. I can't even remember what time of day mine turned up, all I recall is being surprised at how many boxes it all came in
Margaret
Its arrived, So many Hugh boxes Phone Hubby, he says he is busy But will try and leave early. Cant belive I hugged the parcel force man ( oh the shame )
Dizzy-Deb
I know exactly how you feel. Mine will arrive next week and hubby out on a training day so will be champing at the bit to get it all put together. Happy New Cube. Hope to see lots of pics of it being put together. dancing cloud
Yay! It's there! You could start getting it all out of the boxes (just to make it easier for hubby and get all the rubbish out of his way ) and it may be worth checking you have everything too. My was missing the roosting bars and I had to manage without them for about a week until they arrived - not that the ex-batts were fussy to begin with! chicken bark
Go on Margaret - put it together yourself, you know you want to. I bet the courier was secretly chuffed.
Margaret
Well started to put it together, has taken hours to do so little, still no OH And now realised I cant get it out of the house..."Ooops, word censored!" Sorry. Bit of damage to the roof..spoken to Laure and are going to dispatch another, will arrive on Saturday. They asked for photos as evidence!!!!!! I said repalce or take the whole thing back, evidence indeed, only one box had been opened, and remember problems people have had in the past but well done Omlet. stand your ground and hopefully it will all be ok, also, one of the poo trays wont clip into place, shame really as Cube is sooooooo expensive but as I said Omlet are doing all they can to rectify the teething porblems. Now to dismantle all my hard work and start again in the garden.
