Griffin
The Polands are eight weeks old, Orpingtons six weeks and Cochins five weeks. All were hatched with broodies and all three families happily free range in a section of the garden together They all toddle off to their respective coops at night. There are a billion food & water stations because Bridget & Francesca Brahma want to guard them all None of the mums are showing any signs of wanting to go back to the main flock. It's so lovely to sit out there amongst them all. I'd never get bored. The chicks are starting to become less wild now and will all come stampeding over when they hear me coming The buff Orp in particular loves cuddles and the Polands are fascinated with my shoes Snowy, blessed with such a name by my four year old The only confirmed girl out of the four: Her very butch brother, formerly known as Claire Duck the buff Orp: Badger the blue Orp, can't decide if it's a girl or boy: Dilys the cuckoo Poland who I thought was a girl but now I'm not so sure: A badly marked silver laced, think it might be a girl: A stunningly beautiful silver laced boy: Splash Cochin girly: 99% Splash Cochin, 1% something clean legged My beautiful Cochin family, 2 girls, 2 boys and an unknown tiny blue. The girls are almost white, the boys have more splashes. They are so pretty:

Griffin
I don't think she looks girly here: And knowing how girly Busby looked for months I'm so wary now of committing myself

Griffin
The Orps & Polands have moved into the big girls run today. Tiger was ready to go back, saw her squaring up to one of her Polands earlier. They're escape artists so at least I know they're safe in the run. The white Orp lad needs bringing down a peg or two so being in with the big girls will do him the world of good. This all leaves just the Cochins in the growers bit of the garden, they'll enjoy not being beaten up by the bully Orps. The Cochins are so gentle, I hadn't realised what gentle giants they would be. I still think Dylis is a boy The mis-marked silver laced looks slightly more girly so I'll keep my fingers crossed that I haven't hatched 100% boy Polands
craftyhunnypie
Hope you have better luck with the pekins! I'm loving all the Polish that people have at the moment. Just stunning! Emma.x
Griffin
They were so well behaved at bedtime. I went out and they'd already gone to bed with the big girls! I thought I'd be dragging them out from under bushes and branches of trees but they were all where they were supposed to be. A miracle! A shame Isobel the FWM and Dorothy Sussex still need to be coaxed down from the trees every night
