I promised I wouldn't get carried away with chickens but have now just bought a secondhand (pink eglu) for the girlies to have as a holiday villa at my mum's house in Kent (well (green eglu) going to Kent my excuse is she wouldn't like the (pink eglu) in her garden). I also have a (cube pink) on order but I'm wondering if Omlet will let me change it to a (cube purple). The girls weren't phased by the colour change at all, much to my surprise although they didn't seem keen on the grey plastic roosting bars as opposed to their previous wooden ones.

The  in me says that I really need the cube so I can have some more chooks and the second eglu to do intros with.

I am so with you on this daxigirl  In only have a single (green eglu) but got a (cube green) on order. I keep browsing the used ones for sale on ebay  ... cause you never know if ones going to come up for sale local and at right price.:lol: I only have 2 chickens but feel the serious need for more.

It like an obsession. wonder if there is an organisation that can help with it. Imagine joining... my name is Deb and I am an eglu-aholic.

I'm so glad I'm not alone in this. Looking at the signatures on the replies I'm not really that bad yet.

In my defence the pink one was only round the corner (unbelieveable luck) and a great price. Didn't feel at all tired after my night shift and happily spent the day (yes the whole day) cleaning and swapping the 2 eglu's around. House work never manages to have the same attraction, funny that.

Now I'm wondering about some hatching eggs for my barren lot so sit on next year!!

Hold on a sec, the (cube pink) doesn't come for another couple of weeks and the boring, sensible side of me says I should cancel the order but I really would like to get some more chooks. Regrettably the (green eglu) will have to go once the intros are over (and to help pay for the (cube pink) ).

But once the (cube pink) has arrived, technically you have already paid for it so the (green eglu) could stay - in theory!

:D

And then you could get a (cube green) to match the (green eglu) 'cause it might get lonely.

Don't I've already nearly filled the (cube pink) before it's arrived.

Although the Jersey hybrid I bought (if you can say that about a freebi) on the Omlet site was gone, the Barnevelder is only 5 weeks & is highly likely a boy & I've not been able to contact the CC Legbar man. Have found a lovely lady with some more Araucanas which I haven't resisted.

I've been eyeing up the leanto greenhouse which isn't used and thinking of converting it to a walk in which would only need the house bit then.

Getting rather excited about the (cube pink). Haven't told my family, I feel a bit like a naughty child.

Your WIR picture on your signature looks really good, so clean and tidy, I bet you look for matching accessories, I confess that whilst in Ikea I picked up a pink stool for them to sit on in the run and a white perching bar (clothes hanger which should be the perfect size for the cube run). Only 1 sleep to go.
