I missed the ariel too,but am loving the series.

There's some seriously good acting and the costumes are a joy.

 

I would love the valet with the walking stick who used to be in Larkrise to have a romance with the pretty maid he gets along with.

I too missed the first one, but found it fairly easy to catch up on. This is perfect Sunday night viewing, in my opinion - nothing too exciting, lovely costumes, a bit of romance/tension/drama and some of our best actors.

Got to say am loving it too. Missed airal though . I think romance is def on card for valance and maid. Would love to live in house like that. Just think how many girls you could put in grounds

I loved it , they kept advertising it in the cinema but i missed the first two so had to go to itvplayer

 

I thought i'd like it as not a big fan of period drama but loved upstairs downstairs

I met Michelle Dockery (the eligible sister) a few years ago in a pub. She'd just got her first big role in The Hogfather, and we spent the evening talking about acting and iguanas and entomology. She was very genuine and lovely and it's nice to see she's got another big role.

Him Indoors and I went to a dinner at the Crucible a few weeks ago, a publicity thingy for Hamlet. We sat at the same table as Michelle Dockery (she plays Ophelia in the production). She was lovely company and is divinely beautiful in the flesh. She has a super singing voice too.

It's a cracking series, Julian Fellowes is a master at writing this sort of thing. Wish it was on BBC though, the commercial breaks annoy me greatly.

I saw the ariel too!! though ''this wouldn't happen on the BBC!'' Really love the tension between all the 'downstairs' characters. OH won't watch costume dramas so i get to indulge when he's out. Wine, chocolate and a good period drama; can't beat it really (apart from Mr. Colin Darcy of course).
