Chickendoodle
Just had to tell you all about the fantastic night I had yesterday and to praise a bunch of comedians who do charity work quietly and without fuss. My boss's cousin has identical twin boys and one of them. Felix, was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma in February of last year at the age of 4. He has had some 17 rounds of chemotherapy, many operations, radiotherapy and is now undergoing treatment in Germany. Thankfully the cancer appears to have be clear but the treatment in Germany is a trial to prevent relapse and is very expensive. If you want to read his story it is here http://www.appeal4felix.com/ Anyway, Felix's aunty wrote to Rob Brydon, explaining about Felix and asking if he would consider doing a benefit concert. Without hesitation he agreed and immediately came to Brighton to meet Felix and make the arrangements. No-one apart from the immediate family knew who he would bring with him to the show - it was just billed as Rob Brydon and friends. Last night we were treated to Rob Brydon Ronnie Corbett - what a legend! Jason Manford (drove all the way from Manchester to Brighton to be there for a 15 minute spot) Michael McIntyre 2 other comedians whose names I have forgotten but they have both appeared on the Rob Brydon show. Rob Brydon also auctioned 2 tickets to a gala concert at the Albert Hall this Wednesday (his tickets I believe which were £175 each at face value) together with access to the stars afterwards - it is a Rock Gala so it is The Who, The Stones, Tom Jones and other mega stars. They went for £1500!! Felix's Mum and Dad came on the stage mid way through and said that the treatment was costing £70,000 (apart from the living costs etc as the whole family goes with Felix) and that the concert had raised enough to cover all of the costs. Fantastic A lot of stars seem to make a big fuss about their charity work - this event is only known of locally so wanted to give praise where praise is due
C&T
It's lovely to hear of people like this, ready to give back and help others where they can. It must be such a huge relief to Felix's family to have the money in place - and a wonderful boost to their spirits too.

cheeky girls
What a star he is and what a fantastic result for all concerned. It just goes to show that if you don't ask, you don't get. I am very lucky in as much as I work for a theatre and get to meet some of these people during my day to day life and it never ceases to amaze me how, the more 'famous' they are, the smaller their egos - Rob Brydon and friends proved this. I send best wishes to Felix and his family

jlo
That is really lovely to hear - and it must have been a great night as well! All the very best to Felix and his family. It is a horrible disease and I know that the prognosis is really not good so I truly hope that the treatment works
