patsylabrador
Sad news today. Shame that they could not be saved, I was hoping for another happy ending. Mining reaps quite a high toll doesn't it.

Seagazer
It is so sad that there is no happy ending as with the Chilean miners.
Lavenders_Blue
The Chilean miners' story must have given them such hope, but this must have been a very different situation. I heard on the news today that the rescue services hadn't even been allowed near the mine as there was the risk of further explosion. A very, very sad outcome to this story. chicken bark
I agree - I think hopes had been raised because of the miraculous outcome for the Chilean miners. Very very sad.
Lesley
The thought that they may have survived the first blast and been awaiting rescue just doesn't bear thinking about
Chucky Mama
It is just horrible isn't it I suppose one good thing is that they didn't send anyone else down there as they probably would have been killed by the explosion too. The footage of the families is just awful to see.
