Lesley
I made these today - had a bit of a problem with the 'cake topping' which is solid shampoo so they're all a bit different, they're being individually wrapped so it won't be a problem. Vanilla Bath Bomb 'cake' with shampoo 'icing'......... I used the s"Ooops, word censored!"s of shampoo to make Lavender Bath Truffles..... I made some for the little boys in the family as well - green bomb, green glitter, plastic soldiers embedded in the bomb and grapefruit fragrance......I don't know what they'll make of them! Snowy
Brilliant! There should be more boy bath bombs made - mine love them, even with bits of flowers in them

Lesley
Snowy - Jake loves bath bombs as well - he chose lime and grapefruit as the fragrances when we made some a couple of years ago. Here are the boys ones...... Sarah - I use the recipes (and ingredients and moulds) from The Soap Kitchen http://www.thesoapkitchen.co.uk. Bath bombs are really easy to make, just bicarb, citric acid colour and fragrance and then a spritz of water. Powder colour is better but I use my cake decorating colours. I used culinary vanilla as fragrance and a pale custard clour for the 'cake' The Soap Kitchen's recipe says to use the cupcake moulds but they were smaller than I wanted so I used tall muffin cases in my muffin tin and pressed the mixture down well, then I transferred the bombs to the pink cases. The recipe then uses opaque melt and pour soap which is whisked before topping the 'cakes'. I only had clear soap so I added some grated bar soap which is what caused me problems.....never again unless it is just a small amount I would use the opaque soap plus any colouring and just melt and pour over the 'cake' rather than whisk it. The flowers were melted solid shampoo - opaque is better than clear. I only had clear again so added a bit of the soap. It made them look like spotty flowers! I poured in onto an old baking sheet and used cake decorating cutters.

craftyhunnypie
They are brilliant - love the boy bombs! Got me thinking what else you could put in them. I want to make some now - I love messing. Emma.x

I want to make some now - I love messing. Emma.x I wasn't too happy with soldiers but couldn't think what else to use. I never used to let my children or grandchildren have toy guns but soon came to realise that it makes not a bit of difference.....they'll use anything, sticks, fingers, toothbrush, kitchen roll middles. cucumbers, carrots....the broom........to be guns The only other thing that boys seem to be interested in is poo - perhaps I should have bought plastic dog poop instead Jake would happily settle for green and glittery - as long as he can lob it into the bath from a great height
craftyhunnypie
You could put plastic farm animals or dinosaurs in. Most boys like them. Or lego men! Emma.x
Lesley
My lot are just a bit old for farm animals now - Lego would be good but they'd need to be small, I have the smaller size mould.
