Cinnamon
We love Centerparcs & tend to go every year, but usually we go to Longleat,as its nearest to us. We have been to both Sherwood & Elvedon before, but never Winfell. It will be a bit of a trek for us,so I am hoping that I can get some feedback as to what it is like, especially from anyone who has also been to the other parcs? Bramble
Yes, I went to Whinfell a couple of years ago (the only other one I have been to is Sherwood). I think it was nicer than Sherwood, gazillions of red squirrels EVERYWHERE which is lovely. I thought the staff seemed much nicer too. I'm sure you will have lots of fun there! debbier
I've been too, though a while back, now. Though it's a fair trek from me, too, it's a darn site easier to find than Longleat, as it's just off the M6. I loved it.
Cinnamon
It will be a long, long trek for us here in Oxfordshire. I am looking forward to the new one opening in 2012,which will be nearish to us too
Jules.
We've been there about 10 times now, but only there, to no others. We enjoy it every time, but since it has changed from being owned by Oasis it has got much more commercialised The best location for red squirrel spotting is Forresters Lane. The best place we stayed in was Seven Pines- really easy access ( on foot) to the sports plaza & butterfly building. It is a bit tired & worn in places, but they are gradually updating all the lodges. Executive doesn't mean "new" however- we stayed in a penthouse apartment once & it was well bashed about If you go you can call at the Llama Karma Cafe just off junction 40 on the way there
Donna C
Hi, we've been to them all but winfell is FAR FAR FAR the better one. Well worth the journey. We go every year now. Always feels more relaxed. Enjoy
Lesley
We went when it was Oasis - much nicer chalet style cottages - less 'concrete toilet block' than the usual CenterParcs.
Goldstar
We have been to Winfell 3 times, Elevedon once and Sherwood once. We were disappointed with Elevedon and Sherwood, mainly because of the look of the accomodation. Winfell has log cabins that blend in with the surroundings. It is a trek from here so we stay for a week.
redhotchick
Hi! I love Centre Parcs Whinfell Forest. I haven't been to the others but I have been to this many times. We take 3 lodges and about 20 of us go! My nieces and nephews have grown up with it and it's a really lovely family get together. We have stayed in Badgers Wood in recent years. It's not too far from the Village Centre (where the pool is) and the Sports Plaza, also not too far from the pub. I always take mixed bird seed, peanuts in their shells and logs for the fire (we go in November). It's lovely to sit quietly in the lounge and watch the wildlife come to the patio. The riding stables (a walk just off site) is great, the scenery from horseback is memorable, especially on a beautiful Autumn day. We've done archery, high wires, Birds of Prey, Tree Walking, loads more stuff over the years. The Seadoos this year were fantastic! The staff are friendly and helpful, we've had some really good experiences of excellent customer service - they do that bit more than they have to so often. I hope you enjoy your trip and if you have any specific questions, I'll try and answer.
missuscluck
We have been a few times and last time we stayed in one of the 'new' lodges. It was lovley. Very Modern and shiny We have always had a fab time and it is great for red squirrel spotting. I havent stayed at any of the others though, so cant compare. Only been to Aqua Sana at Sherwood for the day but did not stay over.
