Janepie33
Anyone watching this on ITV 1 9pm Thursday evenings? It's a ghost story set around a house called Marchlands and tells the story of 3 different families living in the house in the 60s, 80s and present day. I'm really enjoying it and can't wait to see what happens next.
chickenNutter
Missed it tonight as I was at kids' school music concert. Rats! Was it good?
Janepie33
Yes. Excellent. With a couple of twists. Can't wait for the next one.
alih
Am really enjoying it and love Anne Reid. Easily spooked though so don't like the scary bits. And am terribly sad about the 60s story - the young bereaved mother is so touching. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
Egluntyne
Fascinating isn't it.
redhotchick
Darn it! I watched this last week but forgot to put it on series link Is it repeated?
Egluntyne
It'll be on ITV Player.
Alis girls
Its good - I didnt realise Anne Reid was the older version of the young mum at first. It reminds me of film "Dont look now" in many ways - child drowns and there are hauntings. Very spooky - I like it. I think Nisha will name her child Alice (if its a girl of course) which its bound to be isnt it.
RedReader
HI, Im loving it especially the way they have the little touches in each time zone (the old estate car for the 80s) Like you say the baby is bound to be a girl & Im also looking forward to seeing the relevance of Mark's relationship with the deaf lady... chickenNutter
Oooooh! Just watched it on I-player. Is it my imagination or have the time zones speeded up? The flipping between the time zones seems to be very fast this episode, particularly as they seem to have introduced another time zone with the elder brother of the '80s girl getting to know the deaf girl. (Or am I confused after one too many glasses of wine?)
Janepie33
Yes ChickenNutter. You are confused. The one getting to know the deaf girl is a young Mark (the one married to Nisha who is about to give birth in 2010) http://www.itv.com/dramapremieres/marchlands/ This explains a bit more. Alis girls
Dont worry CN took me a while to work out actress Anne Reid was the older version of the mum of Alice. Didnt help ES was bending my ear at the time and I couldnt concentrate fully.

foulbird
I'm loving it - have had to apologise to the neighbours for the odd scream or two... not so much scary as unexpected in an expected sort of way... you know that something will happen but not what... Tiggy
Im loving it, is it on again on Thursday?
Goldstar
Am enjoying this, but the scary white child hand scared the what-nots out of me. It's on again tonight, I might make my OH watch it with me. Am not good with scary things. I have done well up til now.
Alis girls
Know what you mean - those toys on the bed looked demonic and I was expecting a dolls eye to move in a wink so watched from behind the duvet. I dont know how I sat thro Toy Story - something about toys coming to life after dark gives me the eeebie geebies. How Nisha hasnt found out Ruth had a daughter and lived there is a bit odd. small village and gossip etc
Egluntyne
Why does the deaf lady, who was Nisha's husbands first love, now look twenty five years older than him?
Alis girls
Can't answer that one - poor casting probably. Now you mention it yes its true. And where is older Ruths husband - dead or divorced - assume she became a midwife after death of daughter.
Janepie33
Last episode tonight. Really looking forward to seeing how they tie up all the loose ends.
Eggasperated
Just watched last episode with OH, had to explain to him who everybody was - not sure if he has made any sense of the series at all . Perhaps I imagined he was watching it with me .
Janepie33
I had to keep telling OH which year we were in. I thought he'd be able to tell by looking at the cars!
Alis girls
Somebody not sure if it was on here or in paper said ending was inevitable - I must admit I guessed it was an accident but not the rest. What happened in between all the owners of the house - was it empty - that wasnt explained.
Egluntyne
I thought the person involved would be involved, IYSWIM, But I thought it might be an abuse story. Clever twist.
