Keep on running, girls. Alli x Edited May 22, 2011 by Guest
cathybc
Thank you all for your encouragement! Well, I managed the 20 mins, in the rain too . Very slow but I did overtake some dog walkers and the amazing thing is that I did keep going. Yes Bramble, I am doing the NHS Couch to 5K; kind of have a hate/relationship with Laura, hate her at the beginning of each podcasts but love her at the end! Bramble
Well, week ten, run one done. I did the same podcast I listened to for week nine, but feel a bit "lost" as this is the first time I haven't had a new podcast with a new challenge Think I'll look for a new route to shake the rotine a bit then try to crack on with improving my (appalling) pace
Ain't Nobody Here
Well done . Bet you can't believe you've been at it for 2 1/2 months . Please don't worry about your pace, it really is the last thing you need to worry about . Have you got some motivational music to put on your mp3 player - that might help if you've listened to all the podcasts?

Bramble
I've just done week 10, run 3 and it was a disaster Couldn't get into my stride at all and really struggled, walked for part of the way For lots of reasons, I didn't have any tea last night and I didn't have anything before I went out for my run (I never do eat immediately before) so I'm hoping that's the reason (rather than just an excuse) I was just running on empty
Ain't Nobody Here
Don't despair, that's really common and it's happened to me too . Not having eaten is bound to be the reason . Make sure you eat your tea and breakfast next time .

Ain't Nobody Here
And make sure you've got your good knickers on .... just in case .
Couperwife
running on empty always does it for me, if i dont eat something decent at lunch time i really struggle. dont worry about a bad run, it could be anything, not eating properly, not drinking enough, the wind, the rain, the sun, not sleeping well enough, a rubbish day at work, just dont give up i did 6.4 miles today and it absolutely tipped it down I got drenched i came in and stretched and the cat decided to stretch with me, and lick my forehead cathy x
cathybc
Bramble - the main thing is that you did it! I ran Sunday, Zumba'd Tues, Pilates Weds. Was supposed to start week 6 tonight but going on holiday on Sat so working late and cleaning cleaning cleaning in readiness for pet sitter, not been sitting down till 11. Feel bad about it but i-pod and trainers coming to Italy...
Ain't Nobody Here
I haven't run since last Saturday but I'm planning on buying my own GPS watch (partly paid for with £50 Amazon vouchers from my Sainsbury's points ) so I'll have to run a bit more to justify that . Bramble
And make sure you've got your good knickers on .... just in case . (Now you really DO sound like my mum!!!!!! Cathy BC, I'm sure housework counts as exercise (I wouldn't really know though, I hardly ever do any ), you are very "Ooops, word censored!"le taking your trainers on hols Have a fab holiday (Laura will be waiting for you when you get back )

Bramble
Well, that's my third run of week 10 done, so I guess I'm moving into week 11 with my next run, but why am I finding it SOOOOO hard now I really feel like I should be able to move on and maybe get a few more minutes in each week, but I'm struggling. I did do better than Thursday which was a total disaster, but do any of my Omlet coaches have any ideas, please?
Ain't Nobody Here
Don't worry about "going backwards" (not literally ). I mix long and short runs and sometimes find the shorter ones harder . It's perfectly fine to do a shorter distance so don't push yourself to go further if you're struggling. Get back on track with shorter distances and I'm sure you'll work back up to going further . Bear in mind this is all made up - I have no expert knowledge whatsoever .
jlo
You have experience though Vicki and I think that we all benefit from drawing on others' experiences. I am still being a slob and have not run since the 6 miler a fortnight ago I have been doing Boot Camp and walking for miles with the dog but I don't think that that counts. Here is a picture on the Fun Run that looks as though I am enjoying myself....I am not! http://www.photoboxgallery.com/gallery/photo?photo_id=3052342814&vendor_id=3231
