I don't have your excuse but am not really doing much in the way of running. I have the Race for Life tomorrow so that should be interesting! Couperwife
good grief Bramble please be careful (((hugs))) ive not been running for ages - well, about 3 weeks, and did a trail race on Thursday night - it worked out at just over 5 k (about 5.3 or something like that) well, it had rained - a lot! and it was like a lake in places, but i finished it (last as usual) in a time of 42 mins - bit disappointed in that - but at least i finished it i think im going to re-join the gym and get some more training done indoors cathy x
jlo
DD and I did the Race for Life in Basingstoke this morning. DD kept complaining that she couldn't run so I kept going on and then doubling back to join her so that, "We can cross the line together." However, with 200 metres to go she managed to sprint in and I lumbered in a few seconds behind her. The clock said 32 minutes as I went across but I don't honestly know how far I went with all the doubling back bits.
sparkysmum
Cathy, glad it's not just me Although I have to say I'd have no chance at all of finishing a trail race right now. Love Race for Life , jlo Hope you enjoyed it Alli x

sparkysmum
School holidays are here so in theory should have loads of time for exercise So last night went for a step class followed by a body pump class Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the pain Don't know how you do it Vicki Hoping it will get better. Ain't Nobody Here
I just love my step classes, Alli . Used to do bodypump but haven't got round to taking it up again! Been a bit lazy this week and haven't done my 1st run yet . Trouble is, they're getting longer each week so harder to fit in (around the eating/drinking/laptopping ). On holiday from tomorrow so plan to get myself sorted then .

cathybc
Was persuaded to go running with a friend today, twice round the pond/lake at Sale Water Park. 4.6 km in 31 mins, really pleased, jogged all the time, by far the longest I have ever run without walking

Ain't Nobody Here
Well done, that's a good time . I managed a run this morning - I'm repeating Week 2 of my programme. Slightly concerned about my feet though . They really hurt to walk on after I get up after sitting down and especially when I get up in the morning. I'm hobbling like an old woman . They don't hurt once I get going though and running is fine. I have an appointment for a biomechanical assessment a week on Friday so hopefully they can tell me what's going on. (I just hope they don't say I shouldn't run any more .)
jlo
Hope that all goes well Vicki - sounds grim! Well done to the rest of you as well. I hardly dare come on this thread as I have done nothing apart from walk the dog lately - and a couple of Boot Camps each week. Not sure when I am going to fit in training for this blooming half marathon. It seemed such a good idea in January and now October is looking much much closer
Bramble
Hi everyone!!!! Just stopping by to say hello, I haven't forgotten you all, I've been keeping track of everyone's progress - you are all doing BRILLIANTLY I went off to hospital yesterday with a very poorly leg (after falling down stairs) now on antibiotics due to a ruptured (that mightn't be the right word, I've forgotten) hematoma (a bruise, in simple terms) that has got infected so I'm still not running at the moment, but hope to be back on the case in about two weeks. All the best for your assessment ANH, sounds very interesting Keep going everyone you are doing SO well (cathybc's 31mins sounds fab, great distance to have covered for a "beginner" ) See you all soon! Ain't Nobody Here
That sounds nasty, Bramble . Hope it's not too painful and clears up soon . Not feeling so keen to run today - after a few days of lovely weather, it's now misty and drizzling .
Bramble
Thanks ANH, the good thing is, my leg is completely numb (apparently due to the swelling) so it's not painful - have to go back to the hospital on Friday for check up etc, so fingers crossed. Drizzly here too, it's much fresher than it has been though (or is that because antibiotics are working and my temperature's come down )
Old Speckled Hen
OSH, how are your ribs feeling now? Oooops, haven't looked in here for ages, sorry. Much better thanks, and now jogging a little, rain permitting. Everybody has moved on loads....... really good. Ah stopped raining and birds singing again. Out for a short one with doggie.
