Kitchenaid Accessories Advise

Recommended Posts

I was drooling over pictures of the Grape colour....and the Cranberry colour.....over the weekend, and checking my lottery tickets ( :( won't be buying one this week! ) and if you google the mixer all the attachments come up as well, including the main three that usually come with the mixer. I know Amazon do them but they may not be the cheapest.

Thanks Chucky Mama for starting this thread. You've given me a kick up the behind.

I love my KitchenAid. When I first got it, I bought loads of attachments for it. Of the ones we bought, we use the pasta maker (not the shapes one in your link) and the mincer/grinder all the time. We used to use the sausage stuffer as well, but as we got more and more into home made sausages, we ended up buying an enormous dedicated stuffer.

Some time after buying the KA, I bought a Magimix, and that fullfills my other food prep needs.

When I read your thread I thought about all my poor unused attachments. and today I finally got round to digging them all out. I have a bit of KA heaven sitting on my worktop at the moment, and I've decided to bite them bullet and get them listed on Ebay. I just need to get motivated to get listing.

the pasta makers are fab and the ice cream maker.... but you definitely need the flat beater, it means that you have to make cookies at least twice a week, my kitchenaid insists on it!!!

Oh and i've just spoilt myself and bought the glass mixing bowl for it rather than the stainless steel one.... it was on Lorraine Pascale's baking made easy... of course it makes it much easier!!!!! .... but it looks gorgeous as my mixer is never in a cupboard!!!

I couldn't wait until my birthday and after a visit to John Lewis I now have a shiney black KA with the meat grinder/slicer attachments and Sausage stuffer in the post. Homemade sausage making course is all booked in for saturday too so I am looking forward to trying that.

I have already made some fairy cakes and some meringue with it and I swear it was the best meringue I have EVER been able to make.

I am seriously contemplating carbooting my pasta machine in favour of the KA attachment and also I have looked at the ice cream maker and decided I really NEED it - although I have never made icecream other than in school lol.

Would I be daft to invest in the needed KA pasta machine and Ice cream Maker. To be fair i love making pasta but my work surface is MEGA thick so my pasta machine wont clamp to it and its very difficult for me to use it so i think a KA would be better and encourage me to use it more :-D x

I know it was actually discussed in the Cake Boy thread but I thought I'd be better posting in this one.........my free cookbook has arrived

I'd actually forgotten about it again  - it must be over 8 weeks since I returned the card. It is a fantastic book with lots of lovely recipes and colour photos throughout.
