megalin
Might be a silly question sorry..... We've got some Tylan soluble to treat 1 bantam with Mycoplasma. We're meant to put it in the water but I'm worried that she won't get as much as is needed. Does anybody know if I can just give it to her in a bit of food to make sure she gets enough or does it have to be dissolved in water to work properly? Jools
Could you maybe make up a daily dose using the right amount of Tylan in less water, then when that's all gone, give her some plain water for the rest of the day? I don't know if the taste taints the water though, so that might not work.
PeckyBeak
I presume that the amount to be used in 0.5g per litre of water, ( a quarter of a level teaspoon in 3 litres) as on the pack that I have? As long as that is her only source of water, she will take in as much as she needs, just make up a fresh mix each day. One tip is to always sprinkle the tylan onto the water rather that the other way round and use a whisk to make it dissolve completely otherwise you will end up either with lumps or it will all be at the bottom. For Tylan Soluble at this doseage ther is no egg withdrawal period. Hope she soon picks up. Edited February 21, 2011 by Guest
megalin
Ok thank you, I will put it in her water. Just a bit concerned it won't be enough to blast this thing as it's proving really hard to shift. I really hope she picks up too! Her nostrils had dried on blood a few days ago which really panicked me but it seems to be a bit better today. Quite excited about the possibility of her being better now! The vet said she wasn't too bad and should get better.
