So Excited! Getting A Pregnant Foster Cat.

Recommended Posts

I'm going to collect my new foster cat tomorrow :D I don't know much about her just yet, other than she's pregnant and named Tigs. Although I've handreared dozens of kittens and fostered literally hundreds of cats this will be only the second pregnant cat I've fostered and the last one was over ten years ago! Me and the girls are ridiculously excited

How exciting for you! I've only had one cat that has had a litter of kittens - just before my two cats were due to be spayed and castrated  It was lovely seeing them born and then grow. I only wish that we had kept one of them but we were in a flat at the time.

I hope you'll be putting on some photos when they're born. I have real kitten envy at the moment. My SIL has a stray cat that keeps coming in and she thinks its pregnant. I just hope I can resist if they're born at SIL's house.

Poor Tigs. I've just spoken again to the chap looking after her, he took her in after she was kicked out by a neighbour. She's a three year old tortie and this is her third litter  He sounds lovely, he says he's not an animal person but he's really bonded with her. He's been unemployed for a while but starts a new job next week. He cannot afford to raise the kittens and doesn't think it's fair for them to be left all day. He's praying Tigs doesn't pop before I get there tomorrow  He's really keen to have Tigs back once she's been spayed and my branch of Cats Protection will find homes for the kittens.

Dad is apparently a massive pure white cat who lives nearby. The kittens will be stunning!

oooooh lucky you. Do post some pictures when they are old enough.

When I was working we had the most gorgeous calico tortie as the surgery cat and she came to us pregnant. The kittens were tortie and ginger in varying tints. We let her have one more litter before we spayed her. A client had the most wonderful big ginger tom so we put them together. Well she wasn't having anything to do with him and had her own liaison to produce four black and white kittens :lol::lol:

 She's not here. I drove all the way to MK, pulled up outside his house and then found a text on my phone from him asking if he could re-arrange it for that evening or the next day. I tried calling him and got no answer so left him a message saying I'd go to my mums until 1.30pm but then I had to leave to get back here in time to collect the girls from school. Two days later he finally called to say he was sorry but that he'd fell off his bike and had been in hospital and now his mum was going to have the cat. I don't know if he was lying or not, either way it was disappointing.

There is a possibility of another pregnant cat that might need fostering soon so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that one!
