I am in a total rut. I have just finished a crochet baby blanket for my nephew & I just don't know what to knit or crochet next. I'd like something bright, maybe a bit quirky or a novelty. Something that won't take too long. Hmmm any suggestions? I don't need any more scarves or bags.

What about a cushion, or .... a rug(big hook, very thick wool/cloth/whatever!

Let us know. I've got 1 and 1/2 rows left to do on a double bed sized ripple blanket!!!! Yeah!!!

I always go on Attic24. I made a huge granny stripe bedspread of hers & a ripple blanket, plus some of her Xmas decorations. I've admired the granny triangle bunting & her sweet flower blanket, but not sure I want to get into yet another big blanket.

Yes - I've been on that Loretta's blog too. Oh my - such colour! I'm thinking bunting may be fun to make. I'm loving the rainbow paper crane curtain too! Wow!

How about knitting some socks, there is some fab sock wool out there. I'm knitting a pair of socks in Regia's design Line Kaffe Fassett wool .............I got the brightest one in the shop

I've made one flag so far from this pattern in a wedgewood blue colour.

OMG - I'm totally overwhelmed by Attic 24 and Crochet with Raymond.

I have been reading these blogs for a week or so now and am totally inspired by them both.

I did start the bag that Attic24 did but the base went all wonky so I gave up - I will start over but I need to plan the colours etc, get the correct yarn etc

But I too have done some of the bunting ideas - I will block them this evening and finish them off tomorrow.

 

When I was doing the hearts I thought that the start was a similar shape to a chicken so I made some of my hens - still a few more to do

 

I have ordered three books on crochet and can't wait for them to arrive

Oh I am absolutely loving those chickens! Do you have a pattern of some sort, would love to make one of those for on a cushion. Sooo cool!

My bunting flags are just plain coloured - only doing a few flags for this rainbow of bunting. The next one will be more crazy.

I want that book of 100 flower motifs & I think there is another coming out 100 butterflies, bees & bugs or something?

Crochet is very addictive.

I don't have a pattern for the chickens but it’s basically the bottom of a heart without the two top bits - I made the rest up. It just single crochet, the tails vary in stitch and a few chains for the legs.

I think I will put the chickens on a string & make bunting - I have a bit of an obsession with bunting but that’s for another time

 

I'll let you know about the flower book it does look wonderful - I hope it'll be hear on Monday or Tuesday

I will definitely look out for the bugs and bees book

Oh my - no way! I love the googley Bart Simpson eyes. That is soooo funny, but I'm not a Royalist I'm afraid. Even though my initials are ER & I do act like a queen.

The queen look incredibly young knitted.

I somehow think that Kate's wedding dress will be much more glam than that too.

Hi There

 

The lady who knitted the royal wedding was at the show at Olympia at the weekend. It was amazing!!

 

The best bit was the little corgi.

 

I came home with the wool to make a fabbie felted bag. Been knitting franticly since we got back & I have nearly finnished. The prospect of putting it in the washing machine to shrink & felt itis not one that I am looking forward to!

 

I love the crochet chicks.........feel a cusion coming on!!

Hi - I once did a felted bag from Rico Poems wool. It worked fine in the washing machine, but it did go a funny shape. I had to stuff a packet of digestive biscuits in it & put it in the airing cupboard to dry & shape.

There is a free Kate middleton knitting pattern in this months Simply Knitting magazine. I agree the corgi is the best!
