Gelbel
poo!!! We're off on holiday tomorrow for a couple of week so I thought I'd give the girls' house and runs a good old clean. I was away last weekend so it's been two weeks since I have poo-picked. My girls roost on a perch in their smaller very enclosed run and can produce the pooey equivalent of the dry stone wall beneath that perch over a week. Their WIR will normally have ping-pong ball sizes all over. I was preparing to actually remove and replace most of the floor covering as, to be honest, it's quicker than poo picking and it would make the place look nice for my chook-keeping near neighbours who are looking after the girls when we're away. I started to rake all the flooring together and could not believe what I was seeing - or not as the case may be! I did not change out the floor covering and cannot believe that I only poo-picked and 'dug out' a supermarket carrier bag size full of poo and mucky Bedmax - after two weeks. I had to drag the DH out into the garden to check my eyesight had not finally given up on me. My girls are perfectly well, producing an egg each most days - and pretty large eggs at that. But I just can't believe how little poo they have produced in the past two weeks. I'm delighted - just hope the little minxes don't make up for it when we're away. I'll have morehens disease when we get back - can't wait.
Sam
I also thought that this morning when I cleaned them out!!! Their poo tray in the eglu is usually covered, but today there was noticeably less! Not that I'm complaining though. However I did think it was because they were stuck in their WIR all week and didn't get to F/R, can't be sure though. Gelbel
I missed something out - sorry have one eye on the rugby - they've been on Garvo since November. That cut the poo down within a week or so - but this is amazing.
daxigirl
Mine seems to be doing less poop too and they're on Garvo. It doesn't smell like it did either. I was blaming the boys on being extra messy when they were in residence perhaps I should take it back?

beach chick
my chickens poo for England... and not helped by the fact that I left a bag of garvo quail mix on top of the quail hutches in the WIR, and the hen posse went and helped themselves!! so, loadsapoo, and quail now back on layers pellets like everyone else...
