She's been putting on weight and her legs are getting further and further apart. She's been OK in herself though - bright eyed. But today, she's quiet and waddling (when she does walk) so I'm not hanging around - vets @ 4;50pm. I suspect stuck/broken eggs or peritonitis (not laid regularly since last summer) or (gulp) a tumour . Poor girl. Fingers crossed but if it comes to the worse, then I am truly comforted by knowing she's spent half her life with us, living the life of Reilly!

Thank you CM. Sadly, it was a tumour so we had her pts :cry: . We thought gentle giant Tallulah was getting fat in her old (non-laying) age but she was actually skinny and her keel was prominent so most of her weight was tumour She's now buried in the chicken's playground. But at least she's not suffering any more, at least she had a fabulous retirement and all the freedom, sunshine, dustbathing, and scratching that she could fit in.

 

RIP Tallulah, you're sorely missed.
