OK delicate natures don't read on !

 

 

I should have taken a picture but didn't - we had a strange large (almost human sized - sorry !!!!) poo left next to our coop last night - I don't think fox as it was not long & dark - it was dark but covered significantly in white. When I cleaned it up it didn't smell too bad so I don't think it was cat either ?

 

Any ideas ?

Hmm not sure about the white bit, if it was fox though it would have stunk to high heaven, fox poo is horrendous for smell as I know from when one of my dogs rolled in some in the field, thanks Henry!

Could well be the chickens! We have three bantams and sometimes, when I go out to poo pick before the lads go out to play, I wonder if we've had emus in the garden! Seriously, these are BIG poos; greenish with a bit of white and non smelly.

 

I do find that bantam poo can vary soooo much depending on what they have been eating (much the same as humans, I suppose ) and what is in their mash (they love leeks but that seems to have a detrimental effect, say no more!!! )

My silkies do humungous ones! Extremely large like the size of an ice cream scoop. Too much detail there I suppose.

The white on it would indicate a bird as that is the urea they pass, wrapped around their poop. Mammals pee and poop separately. It's probably from one of your chooks that they've been saving up for you! Unless you have geese or ducks visiting? I'm no poop expert.

I think too that it was either my hens or the rather large male pheasant that has been hanging around. I'm not too worried so long as its not fox poo !!

Mine frequently do poop that's bigger than their eggs!

I agree with everyone else. Some chicken poos can be simply huge . . . as big as my dog's These big ones always have that white bit too, whereas some of the smaller ones don't. The bigger ones also seem to have little smell (unlike the toffee doo doos)

Both fox and badger poo however really stinkm

It reminds me of when I first had babies & all the mums at the clinic were obsessed with nappy content !
