prudance
Hi, Our first dead chicken today and as she was my daughter's we would like to buy a replacement. She'd really like a Buff Orpington. We have integrated two hybrids successfully earlier this year (with just a little blood...) but wondered whether or not we could integrate an Orpington on her own. Would this be unfair on the new girl? Would it be better to wait and integrate a pair? Also, will Buff Orpingtons and hybrids live happily together generally? We have 5 hybrids left, a cube, and a 15'x6' WIR. They don't get to free range very often because of a new over enthusiastic labrador puppy. All advice gratefully received Thanks, Jude
Patricia W
Integrating two is always easier. I'd go for that if you can
fluffy chick
Integrating two is always easier. I'd go for that if you can from what I've heard I'd agree. Pretty sure orps and hybrids should be ok together though.
prudance
Thanks for the advice! 2 birds it is then, though may wait until the end of the year as we already have more eggs than we know what to do with!
percy049
It should be fine mixing orpingtons and hybrids . It will be better introducing 2 new ones. Although orps are very big, I here they can be push overs!
Mollie333
They will be fine. Slow introductions would be best, although they are big, they still need to be introduced properly.
