Hi all,

 

I have just been given permission to extend my run, but can't decide on what best to use for the roof. I have searched the photos on here and have seen both materials.

 

Does anyone have any pros and cons for twin wall polycarbonate sheets or corrugated plastic sheets (except the massive price difference )

If you use twin wall you'd need some sort of way of joining the bits, they probably sell T bar and beading to do this but its extra cost

 

With the corrugated stuff you can overlap it to join it. Do pay out for the proper fixings though as they will stop leaks

I Have decided on twin wall, mainly because it's flat and easy to clean, as my run is under a hawthorn tree which tends to make things go green .

 

It's under construction as I type, I have just nipped back to make a cuppa for me and my OH .

I think Egluntyne has that type of roof suppose it's a bit late to ask her for tips

I do have the twin walled poly carbonated roof. It is fine. It did develop a small leak a while back, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a son, a set of ladders and some silicone squirty stuff.

make sure that you put the twin wall up the right way to stop the rays

Its clear polycarbonate, I didn't think there was a wrong way .

 

Aha, just done a little research and apparently the film side is the outside. I'm sure my OH new that
