abwsco
Anyone else had notice that their Delivery Pass will be going up? Mines going up by £2 per month to £10.99 and I really think it's too dear now Am in two minds about cancelling though as I love that I can do a shop for £40 and get it delivered and I detest the supermarkets we have around us
Chucky Mama
I've switched back to Waitrose who do free delivery for every order over £50. They seem to have improved their customer service so it is now more in line with that of Ocado and they have added more delivery slots. We haven't a Waitrose anywhere near us Have a Sainsburys with a pants selection and dubious quality in most of the fruit and veg. Otherwise it's a 10/15 minute drive to Morrisons, Asda or te$co. The Dogmother
Mine has gone up, but it's still a bargain for me - no schlepping around crowded supermarkets only to get back and find that I can't aprk anywhere near my house I might look at Waitrose to see if they have improved their stock selection, but last time I looked the store near us was very small and had very few of the goodies that I can buy from Ocado. abwsco
We have a drive so no problem with parking but I really loathe going in the supermarkets so this is why I'm dithering

snowberry
I thought Ocado & waitrose were one & the same ,but I can get away with such ignorance being in the depths of Cornwall where the choice is Tesco, Tesco or Tesco...I hate it!
Cinnamon
No,they are not the same - Ocado just has a contract to use Waitrose goods at the moment. Oddly I got an email from Ocado today (I am not a delivery pass member) offering me the pass for £3.99 a month. Its for a 12 month term, but even at that price I am not tempted,as I prefer to go to the shops.
gongladosh
the choice is Tesco, Tesco or Tesco I'd say that's not just Cornwall but all of Britain
WitchHazel
I'm not surprised that they've had to put their prices up - the increased cost in fuel alone probably justifies it. If you have a delievery every week then it's only gone up by 50p per delivery. I would say that if you use them a couple of times a month or more, then it's probably worth keeping the delivery pas even at the increased prices. You get priority booking, you can have as many deliveries as you like, etc etc etc. The best way to tell is to compare the delivery prices for the slots that you would normally book and see if it's still good value. I don't have an delivery pass because I only have an ocado delivery about once a month. If we didn't make so much of or own stuff and if we needed a supermarket shop more often, then I'd probably get one. I think Ocado (and Waitrose, actually) still stands head and shoulders above the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda. I've tried all of them over the years, even before we started making everything ourselves, and personally I've found them the best. I guess the best thing is to evalluate what the cost of you not having the delivery pass woudld be, either (a) financially in terms of ppaying for individual deliveries, or (b) the time & cost of going to a sueprmarket yourself or © compare it to the cost/quality of other delivery services. scarlettohara
I have the 3.99 pass, I'd be tempted to cancel your current pass and see if they offer you a cheaper one
abwsco
Thought about it and have cancelled it. Have had a Delivery Pass for over two years and apart from being able to book my Christmas shopping in October there doesn't seem to be much incentive for me to stay on it eg I've currently got 3 months free broadband from o2 for my loyalty and have previously had six months free from them without me asking. I understand costs have gone up but it's galling when they are offering it yet again at the price of £3.99 to new customers.
The Dogmother
I use it every week, so it doesn't add much to the monthly tally.

That really dies seem disproportionate - I would be tempted to write to their CEO and say that you can understand that prices need to increase but increasing them so much to loyal customers whilst still offering such a low rate to newbies is unfair. The Dogmother
Well, I took them up about the increase to £9.99 and I had a phone call this evening while I was in the shower (and no, they couldn't call back ) to say that they'd move me onto 'another plan' and the delivery pass would be £6.99 from 20 May (my next payment date) for 12 months It pays to fire off a quick email. customerservices@ocado.com if you want to do it too. abwsco
Clare, I've already emailed once in January about how loyal delivery pass members miss out on the specials such as the regular £15 discount and low rate delivery specials and got nowhere (posted about it on here but not the outcome) Only recently deleted the reply but it was along the lines of "they offered good value etc etc" Think I'll fire an email off to the CEO as it just annoys me. abwsco
OMG, I sent the email at 20.53 and a lovely gentleman from Ocado has just phoned me. They have looked at my account and they are going to discount my delivery to the annual rate of £47.88. He's also going to phone me again tomorrow My faith in them is restored

The Dogmother
I was a bit annoyed when the girl called me - it was after 9pm and I was in the shower, Rosie brought the phone up to me and I asked if the person could call back in a few minutes (I was dripping wet). It seemed that she coudln't so I said loud enough so that she could hear that she'd have to wait while I got out and dried myself off. At the time I was really annoyed, but in a hurry so didn't remonstrate too much with her... in hindsight I'd have *told* her to call back. Ms Marple
I too have just received an email increasing my payment to £10.99 per month. I phoned and sent an email. The person I spoke to was not very helpful, so I have now cancelled my delivery pass with effect from next month and so far no-one has come back to me. I stated my disappointment that the increase is a 10% one with no explanation of any sort. I also mentioned that it seemed wrong that loyal customers should be having their fees increased to subsidise the enticement of new customers. So far no response other than to acknowledge my cancellation phonecall. Quite upset here actually. I think they got good value from me as I rarely ordered more than twice a month usually spending about £150 to £180 each time.
