My Rhode Island Red Hybrid, Penny, passed away this morning at about 9:35. :(

She had been poorly the last few days and had very little appetite. She had also been passing this white slime. I presumed that this was just a soft egg inside her. So I seperated her from the flock, and let her run about the back garden. I left out some mixed corn and potatoes for her, as well as water which she kinda nibbled at. She drank a lot of water.

I would bring her inside at night for heat (in a box, not on the sofa  ) gave her antibiotic and she would snooze away.

This morning when I brought her outside, I noticed she was having trouble standing, so I tried to help her to her feet. After a few minutes it was obvious that she was going to die soon. I said my farewells to her. And then she fell forward with a final cluck, and died.
