beach chick
is that I feed the wild birds all year round - fat balls, bird seed, water, etc etc. but EVERY year my garden is inundated with every bug under the sun, and not just the good ones. why arent those birds stuffing their faces on the greenfly?? some other kind of beetle-y thing is eating my fuchsia leaves. I dont tend to use many chemicals - pathclear on the drive and patios, a very small sprinkling of slug pellets round veg, and that's it. I am almost feeling the need for the nuclear option!!!!! beach chick
They're not eating the bugs because they are eating all the delicious snacks and treats you are giving them!! :) Martin I've got it all wrong then... I thought you feed the birds year round, attract them to the garden, and they repay you by picking off all the greenfly
Griffin
I've got approximately 9564127568201496 sparrows nesting in my garden and not content with the food I've provided for them, they've decided my cabbage seedlings are much tastier I can boast the healthiest sparrows for miles around

Griffin
It's because they're all in my garden. I've read that they're dying out but certainly not here!
