My boys OH and DS are currently getting very excited at the prospect of Louis Theroux in a Miami jail tonight..but I have to say he irritates me no end... I suggested that we could score points for every time he asks an inane question and looks startled.... but on the other hand. that would mean watching it, and I will never get that hour of my life back......grrr.

Possibly! But then, I don't find him irritating at all, whereas there are others that I can't bear to watch.

 

I find his style intelligent and gently probing with good results and interesting, revealing conversations.

 

Maybe I'll be the only one, but I'd always watch something with Louis Theroux. I haven't yawned yet!

Someone just text me saying how much they like his shows, and I replied the same haha - how weird. I agree, this he's great too

I like that he can get information from people without coming across as rude and arrogant like so many other journalists or this type of show, you know how some people are just rude to deliberatly stir up a reaction, and then act all holier than thou. He's always polite and courteous and gets people to open up and doesn't sensationalise what he's talking about. He simply provides people with their own rope to hang themselves with!

I love the way he asks questions so 'naively' but it really gets to the core of the subject that the respondent gives the game away (or not!) Another person couldn't ask the same questions and not get a punch on the nose! It's a shame that tonight's wasn't subtitled as I found the background noise too much & the 'talk' a bit hard to follow (I got the 'gunning' though ) as I'm a bit deaf...I loved the previous ones about the christian family, sex offenders & ku kluk clan....eye-openers.

Though I think Louix is like Marmite, you love him or hate him!

I really like him too - I think he is a gentleman in the face of extreme adversity.

He also looks very innocent & a bit geeky,which makes me smile

He has a unique style which I like - I have to say that I'm surprised that he's never been attacked on any of programmes. He does go to some very dangerous places and speaks to some seriously dangerous people

well he makes me shout at the TV....for example an overheard clip from last night...the interviewee had clearly said he was imprisoned for First Degree Murder, and Louis said..First Degree what??.....grrrrr

 

Like I said though...I am clearly outnumbered here..so I must accept that I am truly just a grumpy old woman

Exactly, he acts like a numpty and they start talking and we get to see their world. I can understand why some people would hate it and find it annoying but to me that goon stylie is genius.

I love his shows, although I didn't watch the jail one. The last one I saw was with 'the most hated family in America'. It was very interesting, he just has a way about him, he's quite disarming I think and that's why people open up to him.

 

I also love his geeky look
