poachedegg
Ours are now 5 weeks old and I think need something interesting to do, so wanted to know if/what you do with yours regarding treats/hemtertainment. Egluntyne
They will need chick grit if you are giving them anything other than chick crumbs.

lesleysprite
Hi! I give them logs and stuff to jump on and big piles of earth and stuff with lots of bugs in to rummage through. When mine were 9 weeks I took them with me when I cleaned out the greenhouse, they feasted on slugs and wood lice and appeared to have a brilliant time! Redwing
I'm pretty cautious with mine now having lost a few to freak accidents Mine have no coops to sleep in till 12 weeks plus, some live in a stable with just bedding and a feeder and drinker and younger ones in brooders with the same plus a heat source I dont let them perch as perching when young dents their keel bone so I wont have perches/logs/platforms of any sort I've tried boxes/baskets etc for them to snuggle in but lost a few to them getting trapped down the back/sides or things tipping over on them I dont have anything hung on chains/string etc.. so they cant get caught Their needs when they are young are pretty simple, feed, water, light, air and adequate shelter/warmth To be honest they seem happy enough, as long as there is enough room for them to spread out I dont feel bad about it
